Yet another player who seems to have dominated the past few months- Gabriel Diallo is action against another favourite Matteo Gigante.

Over in Montreal, Jelena Ostapenko was doing well - but her opponent Zarazua is fighting back in the second set.

Iga is sort of doing Iga things- but a bit slower.

Gabriel has the crowd behind him, which is nice.

I do like Gigante though. Even if he's not.

A lot of double faults from Gabriel.

This is the second time an umpire has told the crowd they are very loud (talking) and can be heard by the players.
Crowd control seems to be an issue in Toronto.

Paolini and Errani have won their doubles match- so that's something for Jasmine at least.

Well done to ADF- can't have been easy putting the recent loss behind him- and Corentin is not the easiest to play against. But the scoreline looks straightforward enough.
Plays Mensik next though, and he's rapidly rising - now one spot ahead of ADF in the rankings.

It’s a great result for ADF, I was worried he wouldn’t be able to out the loss in Washington past him. I’m disappointed that Yosuke lost, I had to go to bed after the second set.

Casper is playing Nuno Borges later- who was the one he played at RG when his knee injury flared up. Hopefully he will fo better this time.

It’s not been a great tournament for the Canadians, Felix, Denis and Leylah all lost their opening match. I think Gabe Diallo and Victoria Mboko are the only ones still in. Mboko is only 18 and seems like a top prospect.

No, and Bianca Andreescu withdrew after beating Barbora Krejikova too, which was a shame.

Alexis Galarneau put up a decent fight against Cobolli yesterday.
