I didn’t see any of it, but so happy for ADF coming through against Ben, hoping he can finally win his first title! He’s also in to the top 20 in the live rankings for the first time. Of course ADM is the last player you’d want to face if you’re feeling a bit fatigued.

A shame Emma didn’t win but she’s had a really good week all the same.

Husband, who has no interest in tennis, has just shown me photos of Anna with her very cute dog who ran on to the court after her win 😂

Ice it was another late-ish finish for ADF so, he really hasn't got as much time to recover. It's his 3rd final, so really hoping it's 3rd time lucky ( but he will need a lot of luck).

I am very happy he's broken the top 20, because he is really a top 20 level player, but his ranking has not reflected that.
I'm not sure I will get to see much of the match later, but I will try.

The delay gives ADF longer to recover- but it's not great, not knowing when he's likely to play.

Plus, I'm not sure when his first match is scheduled in Toronto (I imagine he has a bye - and as he is definitely seeded, it will possibly be towards the end of the week. Can't 'work' these extended tournaments).

Now the women's final has started in Washington- I can't find the men;s doubles - it's been taken over by this, 4 red button channels are showing Fernandez/Kalinskaya.

I saw that AdM won the match in Washington- very close in the end, he had to save match points in the 3rd set tie break.

I really feel for ADF- apparently, Alex stopped his celebration when he won and went to sit with ADF, when he saw how upset he was. It's another close loss and this one might take a while to get over after all the late night finishes.

The speeches were very nice.

I must be particularly hormonal at the moment, because I kept feeling teary at random things on on tv yesterday. Watching the video of the end of match , Alex sitting with ADF, nearly set me off again.

Rafa’s second child may have been born. I’ve seen something on Facebook but can’t find anything more official, so maybe not.

Caroline Wozniacki, however, definitely has had another baby, her third.

The women’s bit of the Canadian tournament seems to have started yesterday but I’m not sure when the men’s starts - I still don’t understand these 2 week tournaments!

Toronto started yesterday as well-I saw some of the matches listed.
Gael lost his first round match, and Jacob Fearnley- those were 2 results I saw.

Looks like Alex and ADF might be scheduled for tomorrow, which is a quick turnaround if it's right.

Montreal and Toronto are usually on at the same time Fizzy, the women are at one, and the men are at the other( and then the next year they swap).
I think that's how it works.

It was still called the Rogers Cup, wherever it was though.

At this time of year I get confused anyway, and spend all my time googling the time difference .

( you would think I would know what it was by now!)

The seeded players all have first round byes in Canada, so at least ADF and ADM should have a few days off. Leylah and Anna aren’t seeded so they will have to play their first match tomorrow, which is tough.

That's what I thought Ice, tomorrow seemed a bit early for ADM/ADF.

I was wondering about the Laver Cup yesterday- Team World has 4 slots filled and is a bit US heavy- surely ADM has to be the 5th slot (always seems harder to fill 'world' - the top of the rankings are dominated by players from Europe ).

Surely they won't ask Kyrgios?

Is the Laver cup 6 spots per team? I can never quite remember the format. Just looked at the line up and I’m a bit surprised they’ve gone with Tommy Paul ahead of Big Foe, he’s been great value in previous years. Maybe they’re having trouble convincing people to play? It feels more interesting when Team World isn’t just USA plus a token Latin American player.

I can never remember the format to the Laver Cup either- but Team World does seem to be becoming more Team USA (with extras) in recent years.There has been an explosion in US players in the top 100. A few years back, I feel like there would haven been more Aussies around, or Canadians . But there aren't that many in the top 50 anymore.

It will also depend on availability , fitness and wanting to commit to yet another tournament in an overstuffed calendar, I suppose.

Though, I 'm sure the money is good.

I am hoping this week's Only Connect is a bit easier than last week - for a first week, it felt a bit mean .
