You can see half the cast all shiny from the heat and humidity. Grin And probably will for a couple more months yet at least!

Not a lot has changed since the beginning of the last thread!

Nina and Summer had a close shave when the police thought they'd attacked Gary when they were 'tripping.' Turned out it was Lou (who has been arrested.)

Lauren is falling for Aadi (he is cute to be fair.)

Debbie is fairly stable but sadly still has dementia.

Looks like Mick is going to cause trouble again, after being arrested for killing Craig. And Sally and Tim have been taking care of his and Lou's children.

Not much to be seen of the older characters, (I mean - like people who have been there 20+ years, not just the ones who've been there from the 1960s/1970s etc,) and Corrie is a little bit crime, and doom heavy at the moment.

But we do have a few 'light-hearted' moments to keep us going.

George and Glenda are always worth watching, Tim and Steve are funny together. Not fond of Cassie, but am warming to her and Steve being together, (and am warming to her a bit...) Debbie is a star and it's sad that she's ill, and DeeDee appears to be pining for her baby that she has 'given' to her brother James. James is being a bit of an arse to her too. Hope the little girl (Laila) stays in Coronation Street! She is adorable!Smile

Kev has been given the all clear and doesn't have cancer now, but is telling everyone he does. Tyrone has caught him out though, and told him he needs to tell Abi!

Swain has been given desk duties, and counselling, (after the trauma of the death of her colleague Craig,) but isn't taking to the counselling, as she thinks she's fine.

Sorry if I've missed anything!

.

At least Mick had a proper stabbing tool and not a stapler

True. Although the stapler was more deadly!

Yes. But there was a 2 for 1 deal on hotpot, so it's all good.

I've never been to a quiz that's been over in an hour.

a quibble on a single question can take that long

Housewife2010 · 14/07/2025 22:36

I really enjoyed tonight's episode. I was confused by the new Lily. Sally was magnificent. She & Tim at the end brought a tear to my eye! They are such a great couple with fantastic chemistry.

Empress13 · 14/07/2025 22:41

Am confused (doesn’t take much lol) did Lou know what Mick was planning as there were 5 passports ? Was she in on it? Think they missed that bit of info out unless I wasn’t paying attention

FeatherDawn · 14/07/2025 22:08

Couldn't agree more
Sick of male violence rampages around the street
Uncle Stephen
Joel
Harvey
Rob
Now Mick
Anyone else?
And then they all go back to normal
No PTSD/ counselling , it's like nothing happened.
Stop it Corrie, it's ridiculous and boring

Hope’s dad
Gail’s ex who tried to drown them all

there must be others !

Empress13 · 14/07/2025 22:44

zanahoria · 14/07/2025 21:42

yep, he could have just kicked her straight off again

I really thought he was gonna jump to his death

eggandonion · 14/07/2025 22:49

Phelan was a real nasty man .Gary on the other hand is a nice murderer.

Yes it was much better when Lou was pretending to be Gary’s wife. They could have pursued that story a bit longer.

I couldn’t decide whether she knew or not. She didn’t seem to know and her eyes lit up when she heard Mick had escaped, but then again she seemed to have her “bail” escape planned too.

How did Mick escape? I mustn’t have been paying attention and couldn’t be bothered rewinding.

eggandonion · 14/07/2025 22:58

Under a laundry van i think

Thanks for the new thread

Following on from last thread.
The main issue for me when someone has facial work done is you don't think oh so and so is looking good, you think oh they have had face work done.
They don't look better or younger just " done"
Strange in the acting profession

I read a while ago that period dramas/ films are struggling to cast young women due to the amount of work done which looks very out of place and unauthentic

I read once that the sign of good plastic surgery is people saying "oh doesn't so and so look good, they must have been on holiday" without realizing that any work had been done - they don't seem to bother with subtlety now.

I enjoyed tonight's episode, but would have liked it so much more !if I hadn't seen spoilers. I don't look for them, they were impossible to avoid!

Phelan was a real nasty man .Gary on the other hand is a nice murderer.

Even Phelan had some character,a bit of wit about him, Mick is just charmless, surly and tedious and had absolutely zero positive interaction with any other characters.

Clawdy · 14/07/2025 23:18

Checking in a bit late!

TheodoraCrumpet · 14/07/2025 23:41

If they were hell bent on this escape scenario the whole time, what was all the Gary bashing malarkey about? How would that help?

Housewife2010 · 14/07/2025 23:44

eggandonion · 14/07/2025 22:49

John Stape was the nicest murderer.

eggandonion · 14/07/2025 23:58

Gary was just keeping the hospital bed warm for Kit. John Stape was quite sweet until he became a serial killer.

Thistooshallpass. · 14/07/2025 23:58

The new head for Lily .. they don’t make any effort at all to find someone similar !
How is it in today’s world that they all drink at lunchtime then go back to work ?! And who ever has a long enough lunch to complete a pub quiz !

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 15/07/2025 00:10

@Thistooshallpass. I think they were right to cast someone who did not look like the last 'Lily.' The last girl was unrealistic as the biological child of David and Kylie.

They seem to have long lunch breaks. Then go back to work on cars and sewing machines after drinking in the Rovers

It seems to be the opposite of subtle with fillers.
Puffy faces and huge lips

Clawdy · 15/07/2025 08:02

Yes, Sally was really good last night. And the girl playing Joanie is a good little actress.

AmusedMaker · 15/07/2025 09:34

I don’t think Sally has had any work done, yet she’s hardly changed in 30 years. She’s ageing extremely well but in a completely natural way. ( if she has had work done it’s very subtle ! )

strugglingwithlife · 15/07/2025 09:50

I was confused by the new Lily as well. Couldn't work out who it was.
I also thought Mick was gonna fall or jump off the roof.
How stupidly unrealistic though, there's no way he would have been able to get onto the school grounds, never mind into the school

Yeah I thought that too.
