You can see half the cast all shiny from the heat and humidity. Grin And probably will for a couple more months yet at least!

Not a lot has changed since the beginning of the last thread!

Nina and Summer had a close shave when the police thought they'd attacked Gary when they were 'tripping.' Turned out it was Lou (who has been arrested.)

Lauren is falling for Aadi (he is cute to be fair.)

Debbie is fairly stable but sadly still has dementia.

Looks like Mick is going to cause trouble again, after being arrested for killing Craig. And Sally and Tim have been taking care of his and Lou's children.

Not much to be seen of the older characters, (I mean - like people who have been there 20+ years, not just the ones who've been there from the 1960s/1970s etc,) and Corrie is a little bit crime, and doom heavy at the moment.

But we do have a few 'light-hearted' moments to keep us going.

George and Glenda are always worth watching, Tim and Steve are funny together. Not fond of Cassie, but am warming to her and Steve being together, (and am warming to her a bit...) Debbie is a star and it's sad that she's ill, and DeeDee appears to be pining for her baby that she has 'given' to her brother James. James is being a bit of an arse to her too. Hope the little girl (Laila) stays in Coronation Street! She is adorable!Smile

Kev has been given the all clear and doesn't have cancer now, but is telling everyone he does. Tyrone has caught him out though, and told him he needs to tell Abi!

Swain has been given desk duties, and counselling, (after the trauma of the death of her colleague Craig,) but isn't taking to the counselling, as she thinks she's fine.

Sorry if I've missed anything!

or maybe she just does not want anyone at Weathy High to know she is related to him

Obviously she is pregnant and Sam is the dad!

👍. Wicked 👍

I noticed Sam's voice is changing so he's going to be a proper young man (rather than a cringey nerdy schoolboy) any time soon. No idea what the rotten writers have in store for him but Sam-the-man doesn't bear thinking about imo.

He will always be a cringey, nerdy schoolboy to me, even if he lasts longer than Ken.

I note that now Nick is now worried about his son being traumatized. We have had that before, Nick blames everyone else but forgets he moved his son into the flat where Sam's lovely mum was murdered where he has to live with whichever Battersby sister Nick currently thinks suitable to be her replacement.

I kinda like the new LIly, good to have her speak more than the odd word but did they have to go down the 'little madam' route again?

Yeah, fed up with teenage brats in Corrie. They're all so unlikeable.

At least we got rid of Eliza permanently chastising her granddad with him gormlessly sucking up the fact he had spent his money on the wrong thing

Don’t Shanice and Joanie seem posh compared to the others? I wonder what school they where at and why they can’t just stay there?

Deadringer · 17/07/2025 14:14

I think it's fair enough that Lily wouldn't let Sam in. She was frightened and panicked, Mick could have been in like a flash if he wanted to and there were plenty of other places for Sam to run to. But perhaps I am a psycho.

Thistooshallpass. · 17/07/2025 14:35

What’s jarring is Lou’s kids names .. Shanice and Brodie are the kind of names the character would pick . Joanie is nicer and doesn’t go with the other two .

Her actions do not seem unreasonable and no reason why she need be immediately pestered for answers on the issue, especially not by her uncle, his girlfriend and his ex-girlfriend.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 17/07/2025 14:56

Yeah talk about over the top !!

zanahoria · 17/07/2025 15:00

I was expecting Leanne to shift into full banshee mode and Toyah to frighten the poor girl with her concerned face

EachandEveryone · 17/07/2025 15:26

I like to think Joanie is after the great Joanie Mitchell. It won’t be though.

I think of Joanie Cunnngham from Happy Days or that incredibly annoying ' hello this is Joanie' song that was out around the same time

Probably not, or she'd have spelt it correctly as Joni.

eggandonion · 17/07/2025 18:37

Jodie would work better with the other names. I spend too much time on baby name threads.

Edited

Yes the Joanie song

I was mystified by Lauren's track suit, it looks like a Team GB one built for a shot putter. At least her red one fitted her.

and if her cooker is bust, couldn't she have knocked something up in the airfryer of guilt that Aadi provided.

zanahoria · 17/07/2025 19:44

and Shanice reminds me of the singer who did 'I love your smile', it is probably more Lou's thing than Joni Mitchell and continues the Corrie theme of naming kids after singers - Toyah, Chesney.

eggandonion · 17/07/2025 20:49

Lauren's lipstick was spectacular . Did she cook anything? I wonder what Lauren's signature dish is? Baked potatoes work well in an air fryer.

zanahoria · 18/07/2025 20:07

I bet there is no cctv at Dev's

HurdyGurdy19 · 18/07/2025 20:50

I have a very warped sense of humour, as when Swain was in the street and she froze, Carla was calling her "Babe. Babe. Babe", and all I could think of was the film Babe and that it was a pig that was the lead character, and therefore Carla was calling Swain a pig, which in uncultured circles is slang for the police.

digiwidgy · 18/07/2025 20:51

Gary would give Phil Mitchell a run for his money with the drunk acting.

MonickerMonica · 18/07/2025 20:58

Debbie's trouser suit is lovely. 👍

Gingercar · 18/07/2025 21:01

There’s a lot of post traumatic stress going around this street right now!
