You can see half the cast all shiny from the heat and humidity. And probably will for a couple more months yet at least!

Not a lot has changed since the beginning of the last thread!

Nina and Summer had a close shave when the police thought they'd attacked Gary when they were 'tripping.' Turned out it was Lou (who has been arrested.)

Lauren is falling for Aadi (he is cute to be fair.)

Debbie is fairly stable but sadly still has dementia.

Looks like Mick is going to cause trouble again, after being arrested for killing Craig. And Sally and Tim have been taking care of his and Lou's children.

Not much to be seen of the older characters, (I mean - like people who have been there 20+ years, not just the ones who've been there from the 1960s/1970s etc,) and Corrie is a little bit crime, and doom heavy at the moment.

But we do have a few 'light-hearted' moments to keep us going.

George and Glenda are always worth watching, Tim and Steve are funny together. Not fond of Cassie, but am warming to her and Steve being together, (and am warming to her a bit...) Debbie is a star and it's sad that she's ill, and DeeDee appears to be pining for her baby that she has 'given' to her brother James. James is being a bit of an arse to her too. Hope the little girl (Laila) stays in Coronation Street! She is adorable!

Kev has been given the all clear and doesn't have cancer now, but is telling everyone he does. Tyrone has caught him out though, and told him he needs to tell Abi!

Swain has been given desk duties, and counselling, (after the trauma of the death of her colleague Craig,) but isn't taking to the counselling, as she thinks she's fine.

I'm trying to work out who/if anyone lives in the pub. We don't see the back room at the moment, presumably Sean pops in to make the hotpots though.

Did they really have to make auntie Rani such a caricature? I’m sure most of us could have guessed that she was going to be a critical and superior old boot.

We laughed at Abi’s perfect hair in the post sex scene.

It is hard to feel her pain about people lying to her when she is lying to them too.

I don’t feel sorry for her at all. She has slept with two other people and done drugs during their marriage, and Kev supported her. He gave her a job when most others wouldn’t (outside coronation st). And I think she knows he lied to keep her. She’s incredibly selfish. Not that I would want to be married to Kevin!

I think it would have been good if they had made Theo's intentions less obvious, so that we are not all shouting at Todd "He's behind you!" at such an early stage.

It can be hard to see the wood for the trees in such a relationship because of all the 'good' times that came first. I think it would make for better television if it wasn't quite so obvious to viewers what's going on, perhaps so we could understand a bit of Todd's confusion, even go on the journey with him rather than be bored by it from the start because we've been shown right away what Theo's like. Such nuances probably aren't for this lot of script writers though.

The in law shagging plots are always grubby but this could have been better if she had slowly got to know Carl and realised she was in a marriage of convenience with his brother who was getting old and ill. Abi and Carl are the same age and a far better match but the absurd meeting and all the 'you want me really' stuff has been cheesey at best and down right creepy at worst.

One thing I will never understand about modern Corrie is that with six episodes per week they have plenty of time to fill but constantly press the accelerator on plots.

There are 3 episodes a week.

Abi is objectively very attractive, but the permanent pout and the 'dewy' skin give me a slightly queezy feeling. I wish she'd leave Kevin and clear off with creepy Carl. She could take invisible Alfie with her.

I watched last night for the first time in months.

I enjoyed the scenes in the Rovers because it felt like old school ensemble Corrie. But Rani is a miserable humourless character, purely there as a plot point, to be outraged and withdraw her money.

There is still far too much Swain and Kit, Gemma and Bernie, but at least we got some Tim and Sally.

So Theo the plank is not just a miserable git, but an abuser. Todd doesn't have a relationship for years, then he gets this.😕 I can see it might have looked interesting on paper, but he's no Charlie Stubbs.
