You can see half the cast all shiny from the heat and humidity. And probably will for a couple more months yet at least!

Not a lot has changed since the beginning of the last thread!

Nina and Summer had a close shave when the police thought they'd attacked Gary when they were 'tripping.' Turned out it was Lou (who has been arrested.)

Lauren is falling for Aadi (he is cute to be fair.)

Debbie is fairly stable but sadly still has dementia.

Looks like Mick is going to cause trouble again, after being arrested for killing Craig. And Sally and Tim have been taking care of his and Lou's children.

Not much to be seen of the older characters, (I mean - like people who have been there 20+ years, not just the ones who've been there from the 1960s/1970s etc,) and Corrie is a little bit crime, and doom heavy at the moment.

But we do have a few 'light-hearted' moments to keep us going.

George and Glenda are always worth watching, Tim and Steve are funny together. Not fond of Cassie, but am warming to her and Steve being together, (and am warming to her a bit...) Debbie is a star and it's sad that she's ill, and DeeDee appears to be pining for her baby that she has 'given' to her brother James. James is being a bit of an arse to her too. Hope the little girl (Laila) stays in Coronation Street! She is adorable!

Kev has been given the all clear and doesn't have cancer now, but is telling everyone he does. Tyrone has caught him out though, and told him he needs to tell Abi!

Swain has been given desk duties, and counselling, (after the trauma of the death of her colleague Craig,) but isn't taking to the counselling, as she thinks she's fine.

I know! Aggie was the proper typical matriarch of that family. Loved and supported her children so it doesn't make sense that all this Bailey family stuff with her children and granddaughter is going on without her seemingly having no say in it and not even being mentioned. It is honestly bonkers! James was going to run off to the USA but why not go and see his Mum? Surely that is where he would have gone? Its like the writers have completely forgotten she existed.

They would have been better killing her character off (off screen if need be) for it to be more believable. Or bring her back with a new head. They did with James so why not just recast Aggie?

She does need to come back and kick their useless arses. I recall she was always on hand to dish out advice including Tim's penis problems

I would have thought that her daughter being impregnated by the local rapist would have been a good opportunity for some mother/daughter bonding time

I couldn't figure out where I'd seen the aunt before, thanks to PP's for reminding me

As soon as they mentioned the Auntie coming over, I thought 'I bet Dev will start speaking in that fake weird way again'.

That's where I've seen her before! I was racking my brains trying to think where I knew her from.

I knew the aunt would be straight out of the old big book of old Indian women cliches. I am surprised Meera Syal was not playing her.

Although, fair does, you do not expect old Indian women to go to straight to the pub when arriving from a long joureny.

She could be fun . Hope she stays .

We have missed the acerbic humour of Blanche (God rest her soul RIP ) and Evelyn for too long now !

Noah and Theo should fuck off to the far side of wherever and Todd can suddenly realise he's not quite as gay as he thought and get together with Danielle, who will forgive him everything because Theo was a dick anyway. They'd be good together. They can, at least, act.

I am cringeing with embarrassment for everyone involved in this episode. It is by far the worst episode I think I've ever seen. Absolutely dire.

My friend is convinced there is going to be an "OMG" ending, and that's all that's keeping me watching, otherwise I'd have switched off
