On week 5 now (I think,) and I don't think there is one single solid couple at the moment. They're all over the place! 😬

I don't think anybody on here is condoning what Harrison has done. We all think he's a vile human being. But at the end of the day, it's doubtful he'll ever regret having sex in the villa. Almost certainly Lauren will and she'll find it hard to rid herself of it, since its not been that common in the villa in quite a few years now, plus for the reason why she chose to do it.

It's fair enough if people are worried about Lauren's wellbeing but that's not what I'm seeing, I'm seeing lots of people who seem to think she should be ashamed, or - to paraphrase another poster here- think her crying and being upset is the "consequences of her actions".

CellophaneFlower · 16/07/2025 14:25

He has been ripped apart but he hasn't been shamed for having sex. If you can't see the subtle misogyny in how people are speaking about Lauren having sex with him I can't help you.

Because everybody knows he's a player and expected nothing less. Lauren however seems quite sweet but imo did sleep with Harrison to "claim" him, despite being made aware several times that he'd been lying to her, plus having seen what he was like prior to entering the villa. So it's more disappointment of her naivety than disgust in her having sex. Nobody is disappointed at Harrison as we all know what he is.

Phelicity · 16/07/2025 14:27

Toni has shown herself for who she is - to hell with anyone else, and the real Shakira is slowly emerging.

CagneyNYPD1 · 16/07/2025 14:30

Crossaintqueen · 16/07/2025 14:15

Toni has no idea he is treating her badly- he's told her Toni is trying to come between them and that he sees her as a potential girlfriend. He's lying so brazenly, I'm not surprised she believes him because you don't expect someone to lie in such a way.

I do think there will be consequences for both of Lauren and Harrison. By that I mean that they will have to deal with the fact that their families know that they had sex in a room full of other people. With cameras filming and it being shown and openly discussed on TV.

In my world, that’s a pretty big thing to deal with. For the last time, it is not the fact that they had sex. There is no shame in that. But it’s the way it happened that will have consequences. For both of them.

I am entitled to hold that opinion and @Crossaintqueenyou are entitled to hold yours. I am aware that you did not directly refer to my posts but your comments did. I would politely request that you refrain from describing my opinions or indeed myself as “weird”, “puritan” or “subtle misogyny”.

NaThen · 16/07/2025 14:38

I really dislike Toni. She needs to leave Harrison and Lauren to it. Anyone else think she looks like she should have at least two primary age kids. I don’t believe she is 24.

This isnt anything new, LI and plenty of other reality TV shows have shown sex on TV. She is 26, theres nothing to indicate she didnt have capacity to make an informed decision to have sex in a place she knew was being recorded and would likely be shown; plenty of previous contestants have spoken about the safeguards in place and have also gone on to have successful careers without the weight of judgement.

SummerPanic · 16/07/2025 15:25

I think that Harrison likes Lauren more than Toni, but I think that he wants to win and is putting that desire first. I would imagine he has only shifted over to Toni because of being in the bottom three with Lauren.

Plasticwaste · 16/07/2025 15:41

They've always shown sex on LI, it's nothing new.

pinkdelight · 16/07/2025 15:42

Crossaintqueen · 16/07/2025 14:10

Even if it is the case she regrets sleeping with him, I don't think it's helpful for other people to pile onto her and reinforce that what she did was "silly". Young girls reading that will think they lose something by having sex with someone who turns out to be a shitty partner and they really dont- the shame isn't on them.

Understood, but I just don't think it's analogous to real life in that way - having sex on Love Island within a matter of days with a twat who's explicitly playing two girls at once is silly and regrettable. There's no virtue in saying it's not as some kind of public service announcement. If young girls (are they reading this? Or even watching much LI? The ads on ITVX are for old folks' viagra!) opt not to make those choices after seeing how it went for Lauren, that's surely a better outcome.

Fedupoftheshits · 16/07/2025 15:45

Harrison - words can not explain how awful he is. I think his plan was to make sure that Toni picked him in the recoupling by having the terrace chat knowing it would plant the seed in her mind and also that if she picks him, then he can’t be blamed by Lauren as ‘it wasn’t his choice’ blah blah blah.

I was so annoyed that Toni went back there again, especially after all the times she said she was done with him.

Harry looked like he couldn’t care less what Helena was saying in her recoupling speech - he’s checked out from her completely I think

Ive never been a fan of Shakira but last night she really annoyed me, she comes across as very bossy and it’s her way or the high way.

This year is the weirdest year of Love Island with so many non-couples and bitchiness.

It will be interesting to see what happens tonight and

a) if Toni finds out Harrison and Lauren had sex and how she reacts to that
b) if Harrison still tries to have something with Lauren after being recoupled with Toni and if Lauren will still entertain him

jay55 · 16/07/2025 15:48

I can’t watch first look as in office but it looks like Harrison is going to spill all to Toni.
Not sure I want to watch more of them, theyve had enough air time.

MargoLivebetter · 16/07/2025 16:01

Yup @jay55 you guessed entirely correctly! Be interesting to see which version of Toni responds to this bomb going off. She seems to employ different personas for different scenarios.

I'm almost relieved! I was beginning to think I was going mad. I didn't get the love for either of them, genuinely thought I must be missing something.

Toni is the worst, nasty and immature.

I just don't think there is anyone particularly nice in there this year. There's been mean girls before but they had more about them and were at least entertaining. I don't think this bunch are, there's a very unpleasant undercurrent. The fact there are no genuine friendships let alone relationships would indicate they're all just not very nice.

There's a boy I feel doubtful about but everyone seems to love him so maybe he just rubs me the wrong way.

LemonLemon25 · 16/07/2025 16:09

Just had a huge LI catch-up as just home from holiday ...OMFG I'm so sick of seeing Tonis pouty sad face. She would make a fab Daily Mail sad face.

Ive actually considered totting up how much air time Tonis putting sulky face has taken up.

I don't think there are any genuine couples in there. The Emma and Harry is a problem.waiting to explode. Harry has not been himself since Emma arrived.

I’ve probably warmed most to Yasmin even though when she entered I raised my eyebrow at a comment she made about breaking up relationships - I mean serious ones. Sure it was her but I may be mistaken. But I think she’s come across so much better than I expected.

Agree I’m not 100% sure what is going on in Harry’s head but he’s definitly been downcast and quiet since casa

Yes it was her re splitting up married men. But I think it was her intro video and god knows what is true and what they get told to say. I watched Emily’s entry video earlier randomly and it didn’t sound like how she was in the villa at all

Picoloangel · 16/07/2025 17:15

I don’t agree re Shakira it was all about least, worst options. It was a horrible position to be placed on and then - predictably- Meg and Helena piled on criticising her decision. I think she left Harrison in for Toni and Connor in for herself and I can see why she’d make this one choices.

Harry is just so bored with Helena. I do actually think that he still likes Emma - they’re as annoying as each other albeit in completely different ways.

Really feel for Cach who seems throughly decent and has just been collateral damage in the ongoing Toni and Harrison show. V disappointed in Toni for picking him in the recoupling.

fairydust11 · 16/07/2025 17:19

ErlingHaalandsManBun · 16/07/2025 11:26

See I was thinking this about Harrison also. He has seen how many times Casey has been back on LI on All Stars and seen how others like Toby etc who 'make names for themselves' get on other reality shows like celebs go dating etc and has his eye on more TV work.

I completely agree with this - Harrison keeps changing his mind/ making sure the cameras know he’s having sex by asking H for a condom etc. He’s playing up to this role. How he’s acting with Toni & Lauren is exactly the same that he did earlier in the series with Helena, he just wants screen time & he knows with all this drama he will be.

CellophaneFlower · 16/07/2025 17:30

I think she left Harrison in for Toni and Connor in for herself and I can see why she’d make this one choices.

Well yes, but there were 2 of them making the decision, so why did she get all the say?

LittleGreenDuck · 16/07/2025 17:32

With regards to Yasmin, I think they all say ridiculous things before they enter the villa, in order to get themselves noticed. At least she's had a laugh in there and hasn't been anything other than upfront about everything she had said and done. I suspect she's a genuinely nice girl in real life.

CellophaneFlower · 16/07/2025 17:32

First look showed Harrison asking Harry for advice. Just when you thought he couldn't make any worse decisions 🤦‍♀️

I'm not sure how upfront Yasmin has actually been tbf. She's told them all she's practically a virgin whilst acting like some kind of sexual deviant at the same time. Who knows which is the real Yasmin? I suspect neither and she's just quite normal and a bit boring really... hence her getting close to zero airtime unless she's talking about sex... which is not often now.

I did have to snigger when Jamie asked if her back is that straight when she goes on top 🤣

Some of the comments on this thread don't give equality to me. It is always said as the woman putting out, seen as a negative scared thing. But the man has too. Talk about dark age opinions.
We want equality. Women can just like sex too.

Pwo should be equally as shocked at Lauren's family seeing it as they are Harrisons but theg aren't. It is still seen as boys being boys. It needs to stop.

We can argue all we like about equality but the fact remains that generally men regard sex very differently to women. Men are less likely to associate it with feelings like women do - we can see this from male homosexual relationships when they're far more likely to be promiscuous.

Therefore what is often not a big deal to a man is a huge deal to a woman. Obviously there are exceptions in both sexes, but in general men don't get the emotional attachment we do.
