On week 5 now (I think,) and I don't think there is one single solid couple at the moment. They're all over the place! 😬

Continued from Thread 2. (Obvs!) Grin

Some of the comments on this thread don't give equality to me. It is always said as the woman putting out, seen as a negative scared thing. But the man has too. Talk about dark age opinions.
We want equality. Women can just like sex too.

Pwo should be equally as shocked at Lauren's family seeing it as they are Harrisons but theg aren't. It is still seen as boys being boys. It needs to stop.

Again I think that’s extrapolating beyond the specific situation being discussed. Do you think Lauren did it because she just likes sex? In the same way Harrison did it because he just likes sex? Do you think it meant the same things to both of them? Patently not as he’s sodded off to Toni while Lauren is a wreck.

We can argue all we like about equality but the fact remains that generally men regard sex very differently to women. Men are less likely to associate it with feelings like women do - we can see this from male homosexual relationships when they're far more likely to be promiscuous.

Therefore what is often not a big deal to a man is a huge deal to a woman. Obviously there are exceptions in both sexes, but in general men don't get the emotional attachment we do.

Maybe some do and some don't. Itvis a generalisation. I agree with pl there should be no shame in it but the way some posters have phrased it. Maybe not intentionally but clumsily. It has come across like Lauren is more in the wrong than Harrison. This is not the case.

While I agree. I don't think it is your comments I mean. This isn't the bit I am talking about. Just in general these threads have come across to some like its worse for Lauren e.g her family. While that not even being an issue for Harrison.

There is a long way to go.

Hm sex is nothing to be ashamed of. Having sex on love island is hardly anything new.

The reaction to Lauren is because she did it in response to being told that he was getting to know Toni more. It was an attempt to use her body to convince him to choose her (or force Toni to step away) - a knee jerk response as part of the ‘pick me’ dance. At least, it’s been edited to appear that way.

I imagine a lot of her upset is actually embarrassment that she slept with him twice and he still chose Toni.

It's not really generalising... these things are fact. How many brothels do you know of for women? It's true a few women might use male escorts who offer extras, but this is generally as they like to have a bit of conversation before sex. Men who use prostitutes don't care about that. If they had to meet up with a prostitute for a few drinks first they wouldn't bother!

Men might be of the same species as us but they are certainly very different in many ways. Emotionally is one.

Maybe true but that wasn't really the point to my point.
The fact that Lauren appears to be judged more than Harrison just that really. Not meaning you.

Come on if you go on Love Island you know exactly how to play it . She surely can’t be that naive in her 20’s not to know she is being watched manipulated (by producers yes agree) and judged by the public . Totally agree H comes out of it looking like some kind of Hero for getting 2 girls fighting over him but hey when did equality ever come in to play with boys and girls one rule for them and one rule for us. I don’t dislike Lauren and agree she’s been massively played by H but surely she has some common sense

Exactly. Lauren is 26, not 17. A 26 year old woman should be fully developed emotionally and mentally. Most women I know of that age have their own place, and are in a good job/good career. Well travelled, and well educated. I'd be embarrassed if I was Lauren's parents. Not only with how she is coming across, and blubbing over a lad she's known 5 minutes, but also for shagging on national TV.

It doesn't 'empower women' shagging men they hardly know. Wild and domestic animals can shag. It doesn't take a special power, or much intelligence, and you don't need to be smart, (or even particularly attractive) to get a shag! Harrison is no better than Lauren of course, but she is the one bleating about it, and acting like she has been 'wronged.' As has been said, she knew what she was doing. She's a grown woman.

Maybe 'young girls' watching this can learn a lesson from Lauren's mistake!

As @CellophaneFlower said, no-one will think badly of Harrison for having sex on national TV, but Lauren will have shade thrown on her, and will be judged much more than Harrison, whether we like it or not, and it will follow her forever.

Why? Because he is a man, and she is a woman, and people will think more badly of her for this. (Men and women.) No matter how much many women don't want this to be the case, women always get nasty labels for being promiscuous.' Men gets off scot free. Thank you patriarchy!

I think Toni is an absolute mug for wanting Harrison though.

Chill out. Plenty of women have gone on to be successful after having sex on reality TV.

jay55 · 16/07/2025 21:06

When even Harry and Dijon are shocked by the behaviour it’s really, really over the line.

Plasticwaste · 16/07/2025 21:09

All this over a guy that looks like a cabbage patch doll.

Aquarius1234 · 16/07/2025 21:09

22 year old Harrison has filler injections under his eyes..
Just putting that out there....

Aquarius1234 · 16/07/2025 21:11

I find Harrison and Toni incredibly annoying. Going round in circles for ages.
He's not serious about anyone even as a friend.
Toni just seems like a hired actress.

Youllnevergetabetterbitofbutteronyourknife · 16/07/2025 21:13

Oh my god Harrison, JUST TELL THE TRUTH FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!

autumngirl714 · 16/07/2025 21:13

I missed yesterday and not had chance to catch up, what did Harrison do that was so horrendous?

Turmerictolly · 16/07/2025 21:14

Oh poor Cach, feel sorry for him. He is a good man. Ty’s a nice kid too.

Stef3 · 16/07/2025 21:14

Ty and Cach for the win as a couple!

Basically stringing both along and not telling either girl the truth. Oh and he slept with Lauren twice.

Lots of crocodile tears from him.

Usernamenotavailable19 · 16/07/2025 21:15

Cach crying 😭 he’s way too nice

LittleGreenDuck · 16/07/2025 21:15

Can we just vote for Cash and Ty to win?

Plasticwaste · 16/07/2025 21:16

That was a lovely talk between Ty and Cach.

upandleftthenright · 16/07/2025 21:16

Oh cach. You’re too good for this

jay55 · 16/07/2025 21:17

Ty and Cach, BillyKiss is a lovely girl in a not great situation…..
