This morning I saw the filming of Celebrity Hunted! They were in a house on my street!

Love that show!

MidtoLon · 07/07/2025 23:19

Doc Martin, Who wants to be a Millionaire, Beat the Chasers

putitovertherefornow · 07/07/2025 23:19

I stumbled across a film set whilst they had the cameras rolling in a nearby town late one evening. Does that count? I only drove past the end of the road though, and wondered what all the huge bright lights were for. Turned out to be Simon Pegg & Nick Frost filmingThe World's End.

We've been in the audience for a couple of tv shows, one was Game for a Laugh in the 1980's if anyone can remember that far back. The other was a kids game show about 15 years ago and so dull I've forgotten what it was called.

Nagginthenag · 07/07/2025 23:21

Heartbeat on NYM near Goathland. Vera at Spanish City.

spiderlight · 08/07/2025 00:04

Lost Boys and Fairies - the scenes in the park. The director made a huge fuss of our dog and we hoped we'd be in the background but we weren't.

Various snippets of Casualty over the years, and have been next to a Holby ambulance at traffic lights, although I noticed too late to check who was driving it.

An as-yet-unidentified programme last week involving a very big old Chevrolet and a woman in an old-fashioned pinafore dress. Saw the same crew at two locations a couple of days apart but no idea what it was.

TorturedParentsDepartment · 08/07/2025 12:56

The CBeebies panto (Thumbelina) is about the only one I've actually been in the audience for.

As for being filmed - Harry Potter (one of the early ones) is about all that was being filmed opposite my uni halls (yes that uni and that college).
One of the recent Vicky McLure (I'll have spelt that wrong - Line of Duty lady) series was being filmed in the streets behind my old house - don't think it was an amazingly received series but it livened things up around here for a while and we don't get much entertainment going on around these parts.

Tinatubby73 · 21/08/2025 09:40

Not TV but my hometown was home to Rebel Wilson Kiefer Sutherland and Danny Dyer back in February filming a Christmas movie. They even filmed outside my house! It was very cool and they are all lovely people.

Film looks shit though 🤣

maudelovesharold · 22/08/2025 00:37

Well, no tv shows…but I grew up in Brighton in the 60s and remember being able to walk along the long-gone West Pier while ‘Oh! What a Lovely War’ was being filmed there - saw Laurence Olivier and Kenneth More, among others. Also saw Barbara Streisand filming ‘On a Clear Day,You Can See Forever’, including outside the Royal Pavilion and in one of the Regency Crescents.

Fernie6491 · 22/08/2025 15:53

Not me but my DD. They filmed Call the Midwife in the nursery where she worked. The children attending nursery had to be kept quiet and out of sight.

I don't think the nursery workers were impressed!

tripleginandtonic · 22/08/2025 15:56

That new one that's by the Peaky Blinders writers, House of Guiness.

EveryDayisFriday · 22/08/2025 16:01

8 out of 10 cats does countdown. This current series. Ep 2 with Joe Wilkinsons upcycled urinals. I had a cracking front row seat, could almost touch Rachel Riley. It was absolutely hilarious, I had jaw ache from laughing.

DoubleDoubleDown · 22/08/2025 16:51

Gracepoint it's the American.( Filmed in Canada) Version of Broadchurch. They did a lot of filming at the house across the street from me. I'd just had a baby so spent many hours watching out the window while feeding the baby. My eldest son was very excited to see Dr who in the street. I was really looking forward to watching it but it was really crap.

marshmallowfinder · 22/08/2025 17:27

Ballykissangel!

Judiezones · 22/08/2025 17:31

Casualty 1901 (or whichever year it was!). I was on a work visit to Liverpool and it was being filmed around the university.

Jeremy Kyle- I went with my friend, we were in the audience. What an experience that was!

DrCoconut · 22/08/2025 17:41

Surprise surprise. It was a while ago 🤣

DrCoconut · 22/08/2025 17:43

@DoubleDoubleDownwe were in West Bay while Broadchurch was being filmed but we didn't really see anything. Apparently we missed David Tennant at one of the food huts by a couple of minutes though.

DiscoBob · 22/08/2025 17:47

I've seen filming happening in the street or in a building neary house. I went to the TFI Friday Xmas episode filming at Riverside Studios when I was 16. I was so pissed off you couldn't go to the bar or buy a drink or smoke and the audience was actually really small. Black Grape were good. I forget which other bands.

AntiBullshit · 22/08/2025 17:48

The Bill was filming in Kingston many years ago and I saw Polly Page

wonderstuff · 22/08/2025 17:49

I was in Stamford when Middlemarch was filmed, they turned my dentist building into a hat shop.

gegs73 · 22/08/2025 17:50

Ted Lasso. Used to annoy me as they filmed a
lot on a street close to me and I’d have to wait for them to finish to walk past with my dog. I’d not seen the programme at that point so was a lot more impressed when I’d seen the show.

DelphiniumBlue · 22/08/2025 17:55

We saw Blind Date, TOTP, and a dreadful show that featured Dick & Dom. We loved their Saturday morning show, thought this new one would be a laugh but they were literally just presenting a quiz show,I think it was Are you Smarter than a 10 year Old. It was a total waste of their talents. I've never been so disappointed!

As an Oxford student in the late 80s/early 90s we often had Inspector Morse filming on location and it was a regular game to lean out of college windows or have loud conversations to disrupt it. The whole crew must've hated the students.

They don't help themselves though. There was a camera crew in one of the most touristy parts of the city centre the other day, middle of the summer holidays, expecting everyone to respect the tiny little folding sign they'd put out saying 'please pass quietly'. People didn't even trip over the sign quietly, let alone pass by...

We get quite a lot of filming around here 🤣 My parents live in a little Midsummer type village so between here and there and years working in London I've seen bits of filming for Midsummer, Vicar of Dibley, Morse, Lewis, Endeavour, a couple of Bond films, various bits of various Harry Potters, Inglorious Basterds, Wonka, His Dark Materials, Batman, Discovery of Witches, Nanny McPhee, loads of documentaries about history and art, the Great British Dig, and something from the Mission Impossible series.

NewToThisOne · 23/08/2025 05:12

8 out of 10 Cats in a studio. Inspector Morse dozens of times. Showing my age 🤣
One of the Bourne movies as I was irritated it was slowing down my journey home at Waterloo. Complained to the guy stood next to me who turned out to be Matt Damon. I’m face blind in my defence 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣
