I miss Dept. Q!! Suggestions for something equally marvellous please…

Just that.
I loved the characters, the script, the ridiculous plot.
What might I like next?

I enjoyed Dept.Q and also in the past loved Inhuman Resources on Netflix. French drama and v.good story IMHO.
Also another foreign drama this one based on true events in Poland- Operation Hyacinth.

Have you watched Ludwig?

Or I really enjoy the Harlan Coben adaptations written by Danny Brocklehurst.

It was good wasn’t it? I also loved Ludwig and would recommend Death Valley (more cosy crime than angst but very good)

Death Valley was great!
I do things other than watch tv (not really).

Its only on Apple subscription (I used a free trail to watch) but Slow Horses is fantastic.

My vote is for Black Snow on iPlayer. Also cold cases

Agree @MonkeyTennis34 it was so, so good. Off the top of my head, Slow Horses is an equal, first series was the best imho.

According to Lucy Mangan (Guardian) Smoke (Apple or Amazon, can’t remember which) is a really good watch after Dept Q, though you have to get past the first couple of episodes.

Agree Slow Horses are excellent (and the books). I’m also really enjoying A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder

@MonkeyTennis34 Sorry, this is just a series called Black Snow, it’s about cold cases and a troubled detective. Australian but on BBC iPlayer - two seasons

I would also look at Kin on iPlayer, Irish crime family

We are loving poker face.

Kin was good but Love/Hate on itv is even better.
I’m already missing Dept Q too.
It reminded me a bit of House though obviously not medical. The stroppy but brilliant main character etc.
Slow Horses is excellent.

I wish I could get into Love/Hate but that first series feels very low rent and amateur

Both great series...I am looking for something as good right now but can't find anything! Resorted to watching Prime Suspect on player.. 7 series to keep me going.

Yes, I loved Black Doves and may rewatch this December as it’s very Christmassy…as well as very violent !

I enjoyed an Australian series called Troppo - great characters!

sweden and denmark, there might have been an english/french version but the swedish/danish is excellent
