S2 of scrublands

I'm sure I did a thread for s1 but can't find it. Weird

But go and watch scrublands s1 first if haven't seen so can watch this on Monday and Tuesday x 2 week

Aussie actor Luke Arnold is back, reprising his role as journalist Martin Scarsden in the highly anticipated second season of Scrublands.
The series – titled Scrublands: Silver – premieres today, and this time shifts from the parched plains of Riversend to the coastal town of Port Silver in Western Australia.

This season will see Martin's past catching up with him as he investigates the murder of his childhood friend, Jasper Speight (Hamish Michael), with his partner Mandy Bond (Bella Heathcote) as the prime suspect.

"In the first season, Martin was the outsider; he was not too personally connected to this mystery at hand,"

"I feel really at home in Martin, for better or worse." Arnold says about this role in Scrublands: Silver. (Stan)
"But in Season 2, it's Martin's past coming back to bite him. It's deeply personal.

"He wants to get to the truth because he wants the truth, not because he's gonna write in a story."

Silver unveils murderous plot twist as Luke Arnold reprises his role as investigative journalist (https://www.nine.com.au/entertainment/latest/stan-scrublands-season-2-silver-luke-arnold-bella-heathcote/ee019d5a-130c-4c98-ba23-e04eccf13b8c)

The backdrop of Western Australia, particularly the small town of Augusta, plays a significant role in the narrative.

The new season introduces a fresh ensemble of characters, adding layers to the already complex narrative.

"We have some people from Martin's past," Arnold says. "We have David Roberts coming in as Uncle Vern, whose connection with Martin is one of my favourite relationships in the show."

Also starring this season is Luke Carroll, Hamish Michael, Deb Lawrence and Tasma Walton, among others.

Assuming s3 will be trust and will come in the future

Thanks for this! I love the Aussie dramas and remember S1 so hopefully S2 will be good.

I enjoyed reading the books. Currently reading “Trust”, 3rd book in the series.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/06/2025 19:19

Yes I hope they make trust. I haven’t read the books but heard there were 3

Scrublands was the one with the priest wasn't it?

Probably one of the most intriguing openers to a series!

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/06/2025 19:53

Yes @diddl

so you know who did it from the first few mins

but it’s the why

I absolutely loved series 1 then got the book and was astounded to find that 90% of it was different.
I've read Silver so it will be interesting to see how much of if has been changed.

won't be the same without the tasty priest though 🤣

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/06/2025 22:10

I thought he was cute as well

I'm assuming it wasn't Mandy.

That would be a twist!

I didn't see the first season, so going from here. Thought straightaway of The Last Anniversary, where another Aussie journalist starts investigating the very plot he is involved in.

Or a not-twist!

moto748e · 01/07/2025 22:40

All to play for, going into the second half!

Well hope it’s not her

The fact that she's been arrested with two eps to go suggests not!

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/07/2025 10:42

This is true

I will have to watch this Tom as clashes with insomnia

Mandy still seemed more than a bit dodge, though. Did the police tell her they had a video of her slinging the knife? Or that an anonymous caller just saw her? Cos there was a video, and we saw her sling the knife. So who took it it (if it wasn't CCTV, presumably not)?
