Apparently, Tomic wants to get back in to the top 100. His win yesterday was the first at Tour level since 2021.

Just put Dan on. He was a set and a break up vs TP but now back on serve.
Shame Jacob has just lost. Hope it's nothing to do with the slip he had near the end of last night's match.

I saw his ranking was 240 something at the start of the week- which seems quite high for someone who hasn't been on the main tour- so he must have been managing quite well on the challenger circuit.

I read that he was down as an alternate for Wimbledon qualifiers but decided to play Mallorca instead because if he won his first match he could play US Open qualifiers so I guess it worked - I think 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had no idea Tomic was still playing.

And TAW has been shafted to the graveyard slot of 11.55pm .
Now, I know I've questioned the logic of it being on at 8pm (when matches are still playing) when in the Des Lynam years, it was usually around 9.30 after the close of play.

But 11.55 is pointless. Put it on at 9.30, on bbc2, for those who can't waych during the day.

But midnight?

I said exactly the same thing to DH yesterday. 8pm is obviously bollocks but the Des and Gerry show was 9.30/10pm (??) so much better!

It's all starting to feel like they are slowing getting rid of Wimbledon on the BBC. And I don't want to think about that.

It felt off last year when TAW was being presented by a bloke no-one had really heard of.

I think even during Covid , it was more of a 'show' . And there wasn't even a tournament.

I named one of my goldfish after Des Lynam.

I'm dreading the time when Wimbledon is no longer on the BBC

I think some of the coverage is already going to TNT Sports this year, can't help feeling it's a slippery slope

TNT have the rights to show the final, a highlights show, I think . Wimbledon had a similar agreement with Eurosport ( not sure about the final).

I can't see how anyone would prefer the TNT coverage of the final ( with ads and cutting to Rachel in the studio at crucial moments) over the BBC though.

Watching Jasmine in Eastbourne- nearly threw away the first set after a wobble serving for it.

Jasmine through- but Barbora has withdrawn in Eastbourne, and looks like she's pulled out of the doubles too with Ostapenko.

Corentin is getting very cross.

And refusing to play. He's winning- and risking getting thrown out at this rate.
