Continuing the earlier theme about women’s tennis why was Marion asking Elina if she has been inspired by Gael - Elina seems to be having more success than her husband

I also liked Ons Jabeur’s post - especially the bit about however women behave they are never enough - either too loud, too cold etc

Amelie Mauresmo’s press conference about the scheduling of women’s tennis was embarrassing - she didn’t really know what to say, was laughing and saying that journalists ask the same question every year - hmm I wonder why

Samsonova and Zheng all level so far

I haven't been impressed by Amelie's attitude towards the women's match question. She has been swerving it for the last few years. Personally, I will admit I prefer men's matches- but there is no reason not to bring the night session in line with other slams that have them, and start at 7- and play 2 women's matches.

And Elina is more successful than Gael. She's won more titles. She is also a quite a bit younger- and took time out to have a daughter.
But - she's just a woman. .

I really like watching Gael- but he spent a large chunk of his younger years playing the showman - and it was great. But he decided (a little too late) to actually go for the wins.

Samsonova seems to be held together by various tatty bits of tape!

On paper this match was the women's match of the day - but Elena is making Iga look ordinary (but 2 of her wins over Iga have been on clay).
