I know this is controversial but I LOVED the fact that Gossip Girl was Dan Humphrey..
Gossip Girl HAD to be Dan...
Why else would 'she' be writing about Dan in the 1st episode?
He's poor, unknown - and a real Gossip Girl wouldn't care that he fancied Serena... ALL the guys did!
Dan HAD to write himself into their world... There was no other reason for him to be mentioned in the same breath as the upper class elite...
Plus he's a WRITER - and Gossip Girl had a dry, cynical tone of voice that would have been recognised as similar to Dan's - had it not been a female voice we were hearing...
Some have argued that he wouldn't have betrayed his sister by posting stuff about her - but that is crazy. Dan betrayed his WHOLE FAMILY and FRIENDS by writing his book..!
That is who Dan is... Completely consistent with his character.
Re-watch the first episode where it talks about how GG will not reveal her true identity. The camera pans to Dan...who is tapping away in front of a laptop.
It couldn't be more obvious - we just weren't looking for it.
On another note, I see that Blair is looking for new Minions to do her bidding! Anyone up for joining a Gossip Girl Group?
