Can you summarise?

Devastating to watch.

No3392 · 19/05/2025 16:19

It's horrifying

It’s probably available still to watch on Channel 4 catch up.
New evidence from Germany has come to light.
However the suspect will be freed from a German prison ( he was imprisoned for raping a 72 year old US woman in Portugal 🥲 )in September and will then be free to go anywhere - even somewhere that doesn’t have an extradition treaty with Germany.
The suspect was recently in court on charges of another rape and sexual abuse but was acquitted.
I understood from the programme that this would be appealed by German prosecutors.

Unbelievably tragic. I can't believe he's walking free in a few months.

lemontart13 · 19/05/2025 16:37

we’ve got a convicted rapist, multiple allegations, and now new evidence… and he’ll be free to disappear in a few months. Justice system doing a stellar job as usual.

Isn't there an Irish woman who was raped in that area about 2 years before Madeleine McCann s disappearance who also all edges he was the perpetrator.

Yes. Hazel Behan. Her rape case, along with 2 other rape cases of another woman and a teenager and
the sexual assault of two children were the most recent cases involving the suspect.
She lost.
They all lost.
He was acquitted.
Apparently the German authorities are appealing the verdict.
And Hazel Behan is bringing a case to the European Court of Human Rights over what she alleges is the failure of the Portuguese authorities to investigate her assault case in 2004.
🥲😡😮🥲😡😮

She was on it. I heard her talk about what happened to her years ago on irish radio , it was absolutely horrific, he should have been found guilty , I can't believe he got off.

Supersimkin7 · 21/05/2025 14:37

Yup. Same old story - well known violent sex criminal permitted to carry on by the authorities till he moves on to murder.

Bruckner raped several women in ever more horrifying ways, who reported it to
the police. Either the police did nothing or he got away with it in court.

Sex criminals up their game the more they get away with it.

Madeleine would be alive now if police and courts had done their job even a little bit.
