I think the UK entry is great this year! I also really like Luxembourg, Finland, France & Israel. Looking forward to Saturday night!

The betting on the jury vote for the UK has been positive tonight. Up to 9th place. Thats promising. Obviously the performance is getting rated on its quality.

Its still placed dismisally for the televote but we'll ignore that.

I've been looking up the lyrics to Ich Komme. I suspect she's had to tone them down a bit. 😁

If the bookies have it right Sweden are going to walk it but Finland is my favourite by a long way. ETA and Finland 's odds are shortening.

Finland has just drawn the first half of the final in the final draw.

Austria is in the first half of the draw. France has got second half.

I don't think that suits Austria tbh. It'll get forgotten. Thats a better draw for France.

We've got producers choice, so a little longer to wait where we will fit in.

Ah well, looking forward to Saturday. I have got my Eurovision bunting ready to put up tomorrow (12 metres, flags of all 37 participating countries) plus banner and balloons. We are also doing cheese fondue for dinner beforehand to get in the Swiss mood.

Me too! A perfect, and perfectly nuts, Eurovision entry. I hope it wins. That or Malta for me. Also loving Switzerland as the grown up swoon entry and very fond of the British Bridgerton Three now I've heard them. Wilson Philips in corsets.

I was particularly happy to discover Remember Monday have covered the very, very best Eurovision song that never actually was.

Here we go.

We've got a decent draw there I think. It's upbeat and it's just as things start to get going really. I'm happy with that as it suits the song. It's the first really upbeat and fun song too.

But Sweden got perfect 23rd slot. That's going to be hard to beat. France is 24th so again that's a perfect slot. Finland have the one before the halfway point which is perfect. And lastly I don't think Albania will be disappointed closing. San Marino got a fab slot for a DJ set that suggests they did really well in the public vote actually. Jedwardson shouldn't be unhappy either.

So those are your draw winners for me.

The Netherlands haven't got the best draw there. 12 th is normally good but not when you have Finland straight after you. And I think Austria should be disappointed really as it'll get lost there especially after the UK. It's the wrong tempo to do as well as it should from 9th. Italy is not great either - it comes straight after Finland and the halfway break.

Norway is a great opener for the show but it's not really where you want to be. Luxembourg got the no2 death slot which is a shame. Estonia got killed dead with 3rd and they clearly just want Israel over and done with.

Spain & Ukraine are consecutive songs again (and in a similar position in the running order to SF1)

San Marino & Albania were also consecutive songs in SF1 (11th and 12th), and are now 25th & 26th in the Final.

I thought that curious tbh. It's unusual to do. Strikes me as a staging thing.

Spain have a huge platform but there's not much in Ukraines.
And vice versa for San Marino and Albania. Lots going on for Albania but not much for San Marino.

I'm unsurprised at Finland being the last song before the mid break for the same reasons (it was last in the semi).

Fwiw I actually think that big / difficult staging can work against you for this reason because it limits the slot that the producers can allocate you.

I think I might have swapped San Marino and Denmark (neither of which have excessive props, and both of which have a similar vibe).

And maybe Ukraine could’ve been swapped with Estonia?

Or you could swap Spain and Luxembourg.

I suppose the producers felt they couldn’t put Israel 2nd. Because Norway, Israel, Estonia, Spain would’ve been a better running order. With Luxembourg in Spain’s slot.

San Marino have a great slot. The producers like to put at least one crowd pleaser track into one of the final two slots. Denmark doesn't fit the bill.

I think they look at the Tele vote results to an extent when putting the running order together too. You can tell who did well: San Marino clearly did surprisingly well - much better than predicted.

The other tracks which did well in the semi televote look to be Netherlands, Albania, Sweden, Austria, Finland which are less of a surprise. I also think Iceland and Armenia did surprisingly well. Estonia strike me as having got less votes than I'd expect from that placing.

It'll be interesting to see the breakdown and semi placing after the final. I think the result could be really interesting.

I think Luxembourg are hard done by. Agreed with Spain being better second. Then you have three pastel coloured songs in a row though. It'd all be rather pink!

I was really hoping they'd qualify. Not many memorable ditties this year or fun acts to watch. But good if you want to see people propped up on mountains wailing in their own language, or women in leather bodysuits.
