Last thread to finish off the series!!

Out last night so was watching at midnight, then kinda fell into YouTube. Daily Mail Australia appear to have set up a dinner for the willing MAFSAU participants, doing an honesty box, which was good fun.

Wow to Jamie & Eliot. She looked stunning on her (first) wedding day, as the veil was over her face I got full Barbra Streisend vibes from her. She's always been my favourite, her comic timings, her insights. And Eliot! Wowser. I don't do Tictok but if there's some shirtless Eliot to fill those lonely non-MAFS evenings ...

I've never (ever) watched the UK version. The Aus MAFS has the glorious weather, beautiful skyline shots of Sydney etc. I can't see there'd be the same pull for me with UK weather and city shots.

The most interesting part for me last night, watching that final show, was the few minutes at the end where they are all hugging each other. If you get a chance watch again, Sierah walks into the middle of the group as they rise from their seats, no-one approaches her and in the final shot of the group she is on the outside of the group looking in. Similar to Paul, watching the others from the edge of the group (and fully avoiding John the ixpert). Sierah remains a puzzle to me - almost bi-polar with her joyful enthusiasm of the early days to the crash of the last few days with Billy where she became sour and miserable.

Right, it's been so enjoyable through all the bathsh*ttery (Waqui). And these threads have added to the enjoyment, seriously. I live on my own and don't have anyone to bounce my thoughts off, so this has been a really good sounding board, and getting other people's input. Off to Google some more!

Jade was on last years show and she had a child. Her and Ridge are still together bringing up her daughter together. They are on tik tok too.

Oh this has been one of my most favourite series, such a great mix of characters.
Loved watching it with you all, such great fun and insights. I CANNOT BELIEVE Jamie and Elliot are together! But, good for them. Jamie was fabulous and I'm glad she's got a hot man out of it! 😁 ( I'm not on TikTok but may have to download it, just to see what they're all up to! )

I'm hoping Lara on Eyre does some good interviews on her podcast, they're usually pretty revealing. See you all in September😁

It sounded as though he has some kind of special needs though and struggled with school. I think he was very hurt that she said those things and I actually felt sorry for him.

He had said right from the start he didn't want anyone with children because he wanted to have his own children with someone and I think that's fair enough. He had also said he didn't want to move out of Sydney so who do they give him? A single mother who lives on the other side of Australia.

I also actually love the idea of Jamie and Eliot. I was thinking when I was watching the final show they would make a good couple. Yes she’s loud, funny etc but she’s such a caring person. I also think he got done dirty with Lauren and Veronica.

Yes, it obviously hit a nerve with him, being called dumb. I felt a bit sorry for him re the kid thing as he said in an interview he had specified he didnt want to be with someone who had kids. The producers then to mess with people's lives by pairing a mother with him are disgraceful. Cruel to both him and Awhina.

Cant stand Clint, but he does come across as one of those people who at school were the loners, and when someone was nice to them they followed them everywhere thinking they were friends. Sad man, who is desperate for a relationship and will change to suit the person - saw it with Lauren and now Jackie

I've just caught up. This series wouldn't have been half as entertaining without Wacqui and Ryan. In terms of the spoilers, I knew about Elliot and Jamie because I foolishly looked on X and saw a pic a couple of weeks ago. I knew about the restraining order because of the sodding Guardian. Guardian!!! I didn't know about Billy and Awhina before I read it on here - does he live in Perth?

All caught up now here too. Wow, what a ride that was. And I am also fascinated that Jamie and Elliot are a couple now. I would never have put them together! I actually liked Elliot by the end! Liked Jamie all the way through!

Awhina looked so thoroughly miserable 90% of the time she was on the show. Adrian is vile, and I don't know why she stayed. The warning signs were there from the start. Him being so negative about children, him flirting with Siera, and sharing a 'plate of meat,' all the footsies under the table, his constant smirking, and disrespect for Awhina and her family and friends, him allowing his skanky family and friends to throw shade on her, sooooo much shit. Yet she stayed. Why? Because they had good physical connection/had good sex?!

Sadly, she is a classic example of a single mother settling for any absolute arsehole just to try and get a daddy for her child/children! (Not all of them do this, but some do.) I hope she finds happiness with Billy. I disagree with a pp that people who have children shouldn't be allowed on MAFS, but I do agree that it's ridiculous to pair 2 people up who live 2000 miles apart. They should really live no more than 200 miles from each other.

I adore Jeff and Rhi, and did have tears in my eyes watching their bit at the end. They're so cute!

What an absolute car crash Paul is though. The more you see of him, the more you can see that Carina made the right choice bailing on their marriage. He is unstable, aggressive, manipulative, gaslighty, and coniving. ALWAYS acting like the victim.

I heard Tim (Katie's ex who wanted a small, short, brunette and not a tall pale redhead,) and also Jake who berated many of the wives and said he prefers caucasian women (so Awhina is off the table,) both stayed away because of the hate and vitriol against them after their shitty behaviour on the show. Morena and Lauren told the producers to do one and said they are NOT coming to the reunion!

Shame most of the couples didn't work out, but sadly, most of them don't on this show!

They were matched because they were both twins! That’s the level of thought and depth that goes into the matchmaking.

Every year they match someone in Perth with someone from the east coast. Just for the drahhhhhma.

Well, I used to use dating sites myself and it's even possible to filter out the complete no's (too far, kids) on your own merit. 🤣 So I think the experts are doing a pretty rubbish job!

Re Clint - there was one point where he said he was 52 and then said he was joking. I honestly would not be surprised if he was a bit older.

My own personal 42 was first time motherhood. I definitely didn't look that age and not as old as Clint looks
