This is our tenth anniversary of sharing our thoughts on Our Girl series one and have subsequently watched the other three series, followed by Soldier Soldier, The Musketeers, Spooks and Hustle so thought it was time to try something different. Please join us and share your thoughts if you have ever been a fan of Downton Abbey. We are currently on series three, episode seven.

I love their little comments...so understated. 2 hours...how very expensive!

Meanwhile, Rose is being a bright young thing at one of those den's of iniquity known as Jazz clubs.

Rhubarb01 · 07/05/2025 21:30

Dante's Inferno Grin

Ilovelblue · 07/05/2025 21:30

Goodness me, that is as far removed from Downton as possible. They all go to find Rose in a dodgy club.

Magi84 · 07/05/2025 21:31

Oh a Jazz Club and they have all arrived and looking duly shocked

Rhubarb01 · 07/05/2025 21:32

So, Rose is up to no good with a married man. Meanwhile, Matthew is called upon to sort things out.

Ilovelblue · 07/05/2025 21:32

Matthew is such a lovely person. He's rescued Rose and lays down a few conditions.

Matthew jumps in to save Rose really dropping herself right in it. Foolish girl thinks this older married gent wants to marry her

Rhubarb01 · 07/05/2025 21:33

Childcare in the Victoran era Grin

eejittwo · 07/05/2025 21:33

Love the expression on Matthew’s face.

Rhubarb01 · 07/05/2025 21:34

When did "big girl's blouse" fall into common usage?

Rhubarb01 · 07/05/2025 21:36

Matthew is seeking an opinion on potential problems after the tingle episode.

Rhubarb01 · 07/05/2025 21:37

ooops...Matthew and Mary meet at the doctor's and weren't expecting to see each other.

Ilovelblue · 07/05/2025 21:37

I was thinking just the very same. I wouldn't thought it was an expression from the 1920s.

Ah, so Matthew and Mary are both seeing the same fertility doctor.

I love the colour of Mary's outfit.

Magi84 · 07/05/2025 21:38

Oh these very personal visits to a Doctor. Both at same one. Now perhaps they will talk to each other more

Rhubarb01 · 07/05/2025 21:38

Mary it seems had a mysterious problem with the lady bits so it was all her fault...goodness knows what it could have been or how it would have made a difference. It was never explained and I simply have no idea what on earth it was all about.

Rhubarb01 · 07/05/2025 21:39

Watch out for Mr Molesley's googlie!!

Magi84 · 07/05/2025 21:40

Yes a bit mysterious really. Can't figure out how an operation helped. Still a man wrote the script so euphemisms to the fore

Magi84 · 07/05/2025 21:41

Jimmy is becoming a bit rude and obnoxious

Feels like a plot device of some kind based on no particular medical knowledge.

Rhubarb01 · 07/05/2025 21:42

Violet is very funny with Rose.

I think we know quite a lot about plot devices from OG!

Violet is so devious.

Rhubarb01 · 07/05/2025 21:44

Mr Bates is trying to help Thomas out over the O'Brien and no reference situation. It is very generous of him in the circumstances.

No. No. No...Robert. Not a Ponzi scheme.

Ilovelblue · 07/05/2025 21:44

An argument ensues over how the Downton estate is to be managed. Lord G, as expected, is dead against such modernisation.

OP posts:
Magi84 · 07/05/2025 21:45

Ooh goodness Thomas is being all humble. Bates offering strategy to get back at O'brien.
