I'm reminded of the first Chris Eubank vs Steve Collins fight. I was watching it in a bar and cheered loudly for Eubank when he came in. A lone, shrill, English voice in a pub full of men. Irish men.

The bar was in Finglas, north Dublin. About 6 miles from Collins home.

Just heard it by chance on radio. Don't approve of boxing but was hoping Ewbank would win.

I only saw the ring walks (won't pay to watch the fight but looks like I missed a great match) and was impressed by the whole build up with live music etc. is that usual now? What I was surprised at was Eubank Sr. being right beside his son. I thought they hadn't spoken to each other for years. I've probably got the wrong story 🙄 but seeing that monstrosity dad was wearing just reminds me why I've always loved him 😃

Oh I know about the processions but don't think I've seen live music too so it was very impressive (kind of 🥳) and I've seen more of the fight now on news clips. The winner earned £10 million and Benn gets a mere £8 million. If that's correct then I don't know what else to say at this moment. 😱

I was there live for it. It was amazing! I haven’t watched it back on tv yet but although it was mixed responses during ring walks, on the whole from where I sat, the stadium actually cheered Eubank and Boo’d Benn so it’s interesting to hear what the tv picked up. I always feel broadcasters manipulate what it’s actually like to suit their narrative.

Piers Morgan's interview with both boxers was intense and quite scary in parts. I'm not linking it as it's over one hour long but it's easy enough to find on YouTube if anyone wants to endure it.
