Just heard it mentioned and that the first celebrity is Andrew Garfield. Should be good. He'll be very emotional, I'm predicting.

He's definitely being mushy. I like him though.

I like him, he is a luvvie though isn't he?!

SwedishEdith · 22/04/2025 21:30

He's definitely a luvvie but also seems very normal as well. Didn't know his dad was American.

He has an amazingly interesting family but I was surprised there was nothing about his mum's side. What a family of achievers though.

Me and DH both really enjoy this series, and found last night's really interesting. DH said that no matter how much you hear or see or read about the Holocaust, it is still has the power to shock. I had a tear when he was talking to his dad about going to the memorial at Treblinka, and his dad said 'I'm holding your hand, your mother is holding your hand, and your brother is holding your hand'. What a beautiful thing to say, especially as he'd lost his mum in 2019.

The rest of the series should be interesting - they've got some good people on this year.

Did anyone see last night's? Mishal Husain's family tree was fascinating.

Yes I saw it. Very interesting family tree I did get slightly irritated though with her hunger for them all to be successful and academic I got the sense she would have been less interested if they weren't.

Oo, yes. And also focussing on them being American. I was thinking 'but they'll really be English' in the spirit of the point of the programme.
