So we're three days in Mickey Rourke has managed to insult: Jojo and the entire LGBTQ+ community Drag queens Patsy's cooking Donna's weight He's had a telling off from Big Brother re his comments and discussion of nominations Mickey has been nominated by Jojo, who had a killer nomination, and is the first housemate to be up for eviction.

Daley Thompson is immune from being nominated, thanks to Mickey. Trisha has a lot of stories Donna wears an LED mask to bed Jack P Shepherd has been mute 🤐 so far (as his biggest hater, I love it 🤭)

Contains discussion of the spoiler content shown on Late and Live (ITV2) but no further spoilers please 🙏 No spoilers from the live stream or the tabloids Here's the link to thread one: www.mumsnet.com/talk/tellyaddicts/5307304-celebrity-big-brother-starts-mon-7th-april-on-itv

She fancies herself as an A lister it would seem 😂 She's a total bore.

Its hard to imagine how she would get voted off now based on the immediate cancer thing

I remember jade goody working like hell after her diagnosis and could completely understand the reasoning of her wanting to squeeze every last penny for her kids while she could

This feels a bit different though. It will be interesting to see how she settles into the house, my current impression is that she wants to be the respected older female of the house but I'm not sure if patsy fits that role better currently

Appalonia · 10/04/2025 08:16

Apparently some of them had a long discussion last night about ' intimate wipes'. I wonder how much of that will get shown?!

8dateslater · 10/04/2025 08:24

Depends who's in it!

There's always people in these shows that seem to get a really boring edit.

In I'm a celeb etc there's always someone who's really dull and contributes nothing that gets voted off, and the camp mates are devastated and describe them as the life of the camp and hilarious.

I wonder if Donna might be that person this year

Or potentially they are always saying things not broadcastable!

8dateslater · 10/04/2025 08:31

I can't remember if it was big brother, but there was a show where someone was barely in it and it was because they spent the whole time talking about brands etc so it couldn't be shown😂

Edit- I've just remembered it wasn't big brother but the Australian traitors where they also live together(which is a worrying amount of reality tv!).

He got surprisingly far towards the end but he kept doing pop culture references/ impressions and spoke about production/camera men etc 😂😂he barely featured and was like a ghost

CellophaneFlower · 10/04/2025 08:54

Finally caught up! Thanks for the new thread ❤️

Can't stand Trisha. The reason I didn't like her before is as she's always been a name dropper, man hater, gushy over people she deems 'worthy' and overall just arrogant. So far it seems she's stayed true to form. When she entered, Chris tried to kiss her and she pulled back and said "air kisses". I thought this was as he's male, as she happily kissed Patsy. Then she did exactly the same with Ella, so I'm guessing your common reality star isn't worthy of her affection.

Chris was generally a nice guy in LI. He had a few sulks and there were a few red flags in his treatment of Olivia iirc but he was really young at the time so hopefully that was why.

I'm hoping Jack settles in a bit as he's got a great dry sense of humour. I think it's unfair at this point to say he's playing the game as it's so early on and often people take a while to warm up, especially in a room full of strangers.

I'm sorry, but I find MR fascinating 🙈 He has clearly gone through his life surrounded by "yes" people and never gets pulled up on his behaviour. Keep him in I say! I don't agree with what he said to JoJo at all though. I do think he was joking but she's far too young to have to deal with that from a man who is already very intimidating to most.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 10/04/2025 08:55

Didn’t like Donna bitching to Danny and Eve about what Mickey said to her, I don’t think he was having a go at her weight just making conversation.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 10/04/2025 08:57

8dateslater · 10/04/2025 05:00

Unfortunately because she's " a lot" at times, there will be a lot of people that see it him being a bumbling old man who just can't keep up with the woke kids and her reaction will be scrutinised. There's lots of comments in his support on most of the media articles etc.

I said on the previous thread that I thought this might be how it played out.
The fact that essentially he's made a joke about raping a 21 year old or evicting her because she said she wouldn't sleep with him will get lost along the way, and the focus will be on her being an "angry lesbian "who over reacts to a cheeky Hollywood god in order to prove a point/is fame hungry/ sanctimonious.

Before the tying up side was broadcast and it was just reported as him saying hed make her straight, i spoke about the sexual threat implied. As someone who's had similar comments made to me, i guessed there will be an element of sexual threat involved because that's mostly the undertone of those comments about making people straight that I think perhaps gets lost on people that haven't experienced it. In talking about it I was also then told off for lecturing people.

Its not a situation I'd want to be in and with the world scrutinising your reaction.

Some of the rest of the group will get the kudos of helping her though, without the pressure of being the perfect victim so will likely come out of it well though

Edited

he never said he would rape her or evict her because she wouldn’t sleep with him.

MusedeBordeaux · 10/04/2025 09:07

I didn't finish last night so caught up while I'm supposed to be working

I do feel MR is of his time and generation, plus he was a New Yorker Hollywood bad boy back in the day, so he is literally the walking definition of a politically incorrect boomer. I do think there is a decent person in there though, and I would like to see him stay.

I think that Jojo handled herself brilliantly and with a sense of fairness and maturity beyond her years. It is understandable she nominated him, even after he apologised.

Agree about Trisha, she is always at the centre of her stories, interviews etc.

Patsy's hair when she woke up looked even better than the night before, I have serious hair envy!

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 10/04/2025 08:57

he never said he would rape her or evict her because she wouldn’t sleep with him.

Its the implication of it.

How was he going to make her straight? When she said she wouldn't, he said he would tie her up. Its an outright rape suggestion

Normally there's a hint of sexual threat in any ill turn you straight comment, but ignoring that, Ignoring the sexuality aspect , the background of corrective rape still being a big issue or even that jojo is 50 years his junior and is 21...

Its a bit like saying "would you sleep with me" "no' "well you will in 4 days" "no" "well I'll tie you up". What other meaning is there?

He pretty clearly spoke about evicting the lesbian quickly after she said she wouldn't turn straight with him. He implied he called her the lesbian because he didn't know her name, but clearly said "what's jojos name?"

He then in his apology to her said he said it because he had a short fuse which pretty much says he said it because she annoyed him. Even if it's because she annoyed him in another way other than by telling him she like girls and wasn't interested, it wasn't an accidental comment or even a one off.

If I posted that as an aibu, that my colleague had made reference to trying to get rid of me following a conversation about tying me up to turn me straight, the response would be clear

8dateslater · 10/04/2025 09:29

I'm not suggesting he would rape her to be clear
But just that was the inference of his joke and what his joke was based on

ChkChkBoom · 10/04/2025 09:38

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 10/04/2025 08:55

Didn’t like Donna bitching to Danny and Eve about what Mickey said to her, I don’t think he was having a go at her weight just making conversation.

He absolutely WAS digging her about her weight. His more recent girlfriends have been stick thin models, young enough to be his grandchild (a similar look to AJ - and the way he leered at her was horrible).
JoJo is very young and she's pretty, she'd probably be his type if she weren't gay. The sexualised comments he made to her were outrageous and inappropriate, he's coming across as the archetypal dirty old man 🤢.

I took it all as a joke though. Does he really think she'd sleep with him? Surely not. Would he really evict her on the basis of her not sleeping with him? Nope. Should he have gone that far with a girl of her age? No, of course not, so he's been warned.

Also, this environment is totally different to a normal working environment. We want to see how these people react with each other without being on their best behaviour. The show would be pointless if everybody was totally PC all of the time. Let people behave as they do normally and allow the public to judge them as they see fit.

The only time I think they should pull someone from the show is if they're repeatedly targeting and bullying someone.

Since when have uninvited comments about someone's body/weight/what they eat been ok? Can't believe all the excuses made for this rude man( online and an MN) and I'm of an age where I grew up with him being a heart throb in 9.5 weeks.

I never said i thought he should be removed. I actually think it's better to let these things play out (with clear boundaries) so people can be seen for what they are are and don't get to hide behind "they cancelled me because I'm so honest" type thing

I said that I thought that she was likely to come in for a rough time of it because of the fact she's marmite and people talking about her being an angry lesbian in a politically correct world gone mad where you can't say anything these days and why isn't she over it?

The fact that this was all based on a joke by an older man about raping her will get conviently forgotten and the focus is already shifting online to people focusing on the subsequent calling her a lesbian, slur thing which tie into that narrative better

I don't think it matters of he was actually going to do it

As an aside i think he was genuinely angry with her for earlier annoyances and was trying to deliberately be spiteful. Not particularly because she's gay, but because he just wanted to throw his weight around and she'd annoyed him.

Krest · 10/04/2025 09:53

I binged it all yesterday.

MR is something else. Not sure what to make of him yet.

Trisha is ok. sure she is a bit cringey and does like talking but I see her career coming out there. Overall she is harmless.

Quite like Jojo and Danny, and also Chesney seems decent.

Unsure about Chris as I think he is smart enough to know how to play this kind of game but lets see. Very good looking though!

CellophaneFlower · 10/04/2025 09:54

I agree that he's a rude and obnoxious man btw. I just don't think censoring these people is the way forward. Will probably do him some good to not be surrounded by people who are fawning all over him constantly. I mean most of them are pandering to him at the moment but if he keeps going the way he'll definitely wear them down I'm sure 😂

I do agree about censoring making things worse at times. I never envied the people that mod conversations about strictly. When there was some horrible things being bandied around about layton for example, you delete them because there horrendous, but then people say "well no one is saying that" because the evidence is being deleted, followed by a sea of well and you can't even talk about layton without being deleted without it being clear that the deleted comment contained some sort of slur

Sometimes claiming to be cancelled gives people far more power than letting it play out and having their argument fall apart in public

I wonder what the comment of Jack being cancelled if he was honest was about
It gives a hint of "I'm so edgy that you can't even handle me" and always makes me assume the worst!

PrincessScarlett · 10/04/2025 10:09

When Mickey was talking to Trisha he said he has lived alone for 6 years and hasn't had any relationships in that time. You can tell he's not used to being around other people. He's not used to having to think about anyone else. He's utterly selfish. Not excusing his behaviour at all but him not interacting with people for 6 years hasn't helped and his so called jokes show that he hasn't lived in the real world for a long time.

I find it interesting that he can behave appropriately around Danny and not offend him and they've had some interesting respectful chats. So maybe he's not homophobic (which was implied with his vote the lesbian out) but a mysognist. Or just a complete wind up merchant.

From what i know of him he’s in Coronation Street and has been in it for over 20 years.

in real life he was married with children. Then had an affair and got another woman pregnant. He never sees this other child who has medical conditions and has left the mother to cope on her own.

He and his wife eventually split and he is now engaged to someone else.

I KNEW I was right to dislike him! My intuition never lies 😌

Agree! I never understand why people report posts on here and get them deleted. If they're truly awful, let everyone see them and respond accordingly. Some people seem to enjoy the satisfaction of getting something deleted, as though it validates their opinion of it.

I think Jack is very dry and sarcastic, so yes, a lot like David 😂 I do love that about his character though, so I hope we get to see it!

It would have been nice to see some of the women sticking up for JoJo, especially after the "I'll tie you up" comment. Or Chesney - he said in the diary room he was proud of the way JoJo handled herself, I hope he told her that to her face too. Obviously it's 24 hrs condensed into 1 hour, so we can't see everything, but I felt really sorry for JoJo. In a way I found the comment about tying her up even worse than his other homophobic comments.
