So we're three days in Mickey Rourke has managed to insult: Jojo and the entire LGBTQ+ community Drag queens Patsy's cooking Donna's weight He's had a telling off from Big Brother re his comments and discussion of nominations Mickey has been nominated by Jojo, who had a killer nomination, and is the first housemate to be up for eviction.

Daley Thompson is immune from being nominated, thanks to Mickey. Trisha has a lot of stories Donna wears an LED mask to bed Jack P Shepherd has been mute 🤐 so far (as his biggest hater, I love it 🤭)

Contains discussion of the spoiler content shown on Late and Live (ITV2) but no further spoilers please 🙏 No spoilers from the live stream or the tabloids Here's the link to thread one: www.mumsnet.com/talk/tellyaddicts/5307304-celebrity-big-brother-starts-mon-7th-april-on-itv

I have to say I’m disappointed to see so many people so overly gutted about a homophobic misogynistic pig being booted out and even worse making comments about how a 21yo woman, who did NOTHING wrong, will be “smug” after he called her a horrible slur and made creepy comments. I’m pleased he’s going. I don’t find bullying of an omen 50 years his junior an entertaining watch. So what if he was attractive in his younger days. He’s a cunt - a woman hating (and apparently violent), homophobic rapey cunt. Grow up

I'm stunned at people defending him too. I'm glad he's gone. Awful man.

TeaRoseTallulah · 13/04/2025 09:35

** and just to add,I LOVED him in his youth/9.5 weeks etc but that doesn't mean I can't see him for exactly what he is now.

JandamiHash · 13/04/2025 09:25

People have trashed absolutely JoJo after he made those comments, saying she was baiting an old man. Pathetic. I just don’t get the mourning of a violent woman hating homophobe leaving a show because he was once attractive. Sorry that makes you butthurt I guess

No idea which “other post” you mean I post lots of MN.

They might think you are me because i left this thread after trying to fight the "don't immediately forget this" battle

Its a bizarre experience. Like being able to smell smoke while others just continue on.

There is absolutely defence of him in his comments to jojo

When it first broke, the immediate chat was about his kindness in earlier tasks and previous good career (and multiple mentions of his looks)

There are comments on here talking about her fake crying, talking about how she provoked him into it by being annoying. There were multiple discussions about how she told him off etc. Even ine poster who said that she must of known he wouldnt of liked being spoken back to by a young girl wearing ridiculous shorts. Implications that she should immediately forget it because he apologised

Lots of comments about it only being a joke, and how people can't take jokes these days/ the woke. Hes just a simple old man who likes dogs and doesn't understand today's world

24 hours later lots of comments about how not just that he should stay, but that people loved him, hes peoples favourite and that he should win. He needed to be looked after and not voted out so he could feel support

It completely makes sense to me that this is something that he has done multiple times publicly. Everything he has done in this house, it looks like he has been confirmed at doing before. Not even just the allegations of poor behaviour but actual evidence of him using slurs multiple times (the same one!), being creepy to women, and a threat to women.

Knowing now a bit more about his assault history, and the allegations against him makes reading back through this threads chilling for me

JandamiHash · 13/04/2025 09:35

You are an angry poster I have noted, and using the term 'butthurt' tells me a lot about you.

I shall bid you a good Sunday.

Meh. I’ll get over it I’m sure.

At least I don’t give a rapey misogynist a free pass because he was <checks notes> “HOT” and called the woman 50 years his junior who he joked about sexually assaulting before making a homophobic slur a “smug youth pastor” because she dared to be upset about it.

Completely agree.

It’s like when Johnny Depp assaulted his wife and people were all “But I love Jack Sparrow! I believe him she’s such a bitch”. I’m truly embarrassed for people who can’t see past attractiveness and excuse poor behaviour whilst making victims of that behaviour (usually women) the bad guys because they won’t sit, smile and STFU. Like are you THAT horny for some crusty old weirdo you’re willing to look past such awful behaviour

Yeah it's strange. Nine and a half weeks isn't even a good movie (most people would struggle to name anything else he was in). He was 'quite' good looking (he was never of idol looks) for all of about 5 minutes in the 80's.
CBB is the pot noodle of the reality show world. It's generally barrel scraping in terms of celebrity, so just watch it and enjoy it for the trashy guilty pleasure it is! I can't be arsed with people getting philosophical about it.

MusedeBordeaux · 13/04/2025 09:41

Thank you to all the other posters for the lightness and chat this past week.

This thread has taken an energy nose dive, so I'm out.

Didn’t he do Asian face in Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Or was that another Mickey?

I think when the chaotic people stay in it means we don’t get to see much of anyone else. I think Chesney is really funny, I’d also like to see more of Donna.

It'll get back on track when there's a new episode to watch.

Dunkou · 13/04/2025 09:44

@JandamiHash that was Mickey Rooney. Mickey Rourke would have been a child when Breakfast at Tiffanys was made.

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2025 09:46

They'll all be scrambling for someone different to nominate now. I think Jack will be up again and maybe Daley. Will anyone dare to nominate Trisha?

Oh don't be silly. It's celebrity big brother, it's not meant to be taken so seriously! Chill and come back to the chat later 🙂

God I hope so she’s very annoying. I did laugh that she nominated Michael for doing exactly what she does and turning stories round to herself

It might be uncomfortable for people to acknowledge but it's the truth

I've not noticed Chesney much, other than the singing on repeat task. BB missed a trick there, they should've got him to sing ANY one of his other songs - confused clapping and inability to sing along would've been much funnier 😂

I love that even after 7 songs he never seemed to get bored of performing 😂

Well he's made a decent living out of that one song!

I was just reading there that Mickey said he chose to do BB in the hope of raising his profile, and hopefully getting blockbuster movie deals. It's bizarre to me that he equates his lack of work to his temper (we all know Hollywood is full of divas, jeez it's almost a requirement - Will Smith was awarded an Oscar five minutes after he smacked the host!) and not to the fact he looks like a Jackie Stallone clone.
The power of delusion, and the desperation to convince everyone they are still relevant, is one of the main reasons I love watching BB. It's cringe TV at it's finest.

Thank you.

I genuinely felt like I was smelling smoke, and things started to burn while people spoke about what a lovely guy he is.

It will be rewritten and me/jojo/ people that ever speak up about these things will continue to be viewed as angry, full of agenda fun suckers trying to ruin people's enjoyment of just some light rape culture. But even just to know that others do see it for what it is does feel helpful

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2025 10:50

According to the Fail, Biggins was only paid half of his fee because he was chucked out. I hope Mickey gets even less!

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2025 10:50

That's reassuring.

I suspect he was trying to engineer his way out of the house and trying to get voted out in order to do the least time to get his fee. It doesn't seem accidental that he targeted the person with a killer nomination. I also thought he looked genuinely sad about staying in.

Obviously doesn't mean you can just attack people, hurt people and be vile in order to work your way out.

If he got paid, it encourages the next controversial celeb to do the worst things possible to get you kicked out (which is normally violence or some form of hate speech).

There's some accountability for big brother here. If you trap lots of people in a room together, you need to make sure they are safe to do so. Controversial is good tv, Hate speech and people being sexually inappropriate is not.

JandamiHash · 13/04/2025 11:03

Yes BB producers should not have put a man with a history of making homophobic comments in a house with LGBTQ+ people.

i wonder if we will see the altercation. They don’t always show it when people are booted out. We didn’t see Biggins’ antisemitic comments

LovelySG · 13/04/2025 11:06

I’ve just seen on the BBC that MR has left the CBB house.
I obviously don’t condone his treatment of Jojo.
And at the same time I’m sorry he’s gone. Eccentrics and oddballs like MF and MR make entertaining viewing, for me.

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2025 11:06

They showed the JoJo stuff so I think they will.
