So we're three days in Mickey Rourke has managed to insult: Jojo and the entire LGBTQ+ community Drag queens Patsy's cooking Donna's weight He's had a telling off from Big Brother re his comments and discussion of nominations Mickey has been nominated by Jojo, who had a killer nomination, and is the first housemate to be up for eviction.

Daley Thompson is immune from being nominated, thanks to Mickey. Trisha has a lot of stories Donna wears an LED mask to bed Jack P Shepherd has been mute 🤐 so far (as his biggest hater, I love it 🤭)

He threatened “corrective r*pe” against Jojo for being a lesbian. The words pale in comparison but it seems unacceptable words are more offensive to most than actual threats of sexual violence.

Not sure if it’s been brought up before, but Chesney has appeared on CBB before during the Chest Knee Hawks challenge. Can’t remember what year but I distinctly remember Terry Christian and Mutya Beuna having to chant Chest Knee Hawks (with limb actions) whenever the song was played, then as a finale to the challenge he appeared to them over the wall 😂 All hail Chest Knee Hawks 😂

Well if strongly disapproving of lesbophobic corrective rape jokes even though the actor was an 80s sex symbol makes me a 'wokie', I embrace the label.

I'm not in fact overjoyed as he is clearly v troubled but if he persisted in being verbally abusive to others then it was the just solution. Being on the program was no good for him, he should not have put himself through it.

I do feel a lot of sympathy for Rourke's horrible childhood. But I wonder how much sympathy is driven by that rather than his film career- people on this thread were defending him before the details were posted upthread & generally I think his background was not that widely known, at least not the extent of how awful it was.
It's telling & v disturbing how stuff that I expect most would usually criticise strongly(including but not only the rape joke) is excused bc the actor was people's teen crush. Similarly to people who obsessively defend Depp bc he was their teen crush, (not bc of valid evidence concerns, I understand that).

Makes you wonder if people would've believed Weinstein's victims if he'd been a handsome star.

It really annoys me when people try to justify their own and others bad behaviour by saying they had a bad childhood. Mine was horrific and it wasn't even a choice to be a decent person. I just am. He and others make choices. Own them. Don't use other experiences to try and justify them. It's no real explanation either a lot of the time.

I’m glad he’s gone, he was uncomfortable viewing. He’s clearly got brain damage and I don’t think he should have been on it in the first place. I think people are giving some leeway to his comments because of that, rather than he was once good looking. He’s a violent misogynist, which he could probably hide better in the past, but now his boundaries are pretty non-existent so it shows more.

If Daley Thompson came out with the same comments it would be a different scenario, as he is clearly totally compos mentis.

I actually agree with you. I loved Prince but hated finding out about how badly he treated pp, especially women. He too had a difficult childhood. We put these stars on a pedestal and excuse behaviour we wouldn't tolerate in ordinary folk. It's just hard to let go of the fantasy...

Jack has two children with his previous girlfriend. They never married. He sees those two children regularly. He was with the mother from a young age. Obviously, he still finances them AND the child from a one night stand. I am not going to gossip about that. I don’t know all the details.

He is getting married in July to his current girlfriend. He has been living with her for about 6 years.

I wonder if Mickey will get his full fee? He was such a poor choice for the show, even to those of us old enough to know who he is (or was, because physically he's completely unrecognisable). Total waste of a housemate!

Just saw this @Appalonia , I felt exactly the same. Watching last night, i felt the same flips in my stomach, the same giddiness - such was his effects on the female gaze. The chemistry between them was electric too.

Since learned he has been kicked out. I hoped for a nice ending for him with the BB experience. A great pity. I will continue watching, and will go back to immortalising MR as the ravishing John Gray.

I was wondering that. He's not happy in there. You can see he doesn't really like anyone apart from Daley and Danny. He knows not to use certain words and behave a certain way, he's been warned and yet he does it again. I reckon he's deliberately started a fight as he wants to leave. And he knows after the first public vote that he won't get voted out for his behaviour.

I have to say I’m disappointed to see so many people so overly gutted about a homophobic misogynistic pig being booted out and even worse making comments about how a 21yo woman, who did NOTHING wrong, will be “smug” after he called her a horrible slur and made creepy comments. I’m pleased he’s going. I don’t find bullying of an omen 50 years his junior an entertaining watch. So what if he was attractive in his younger days. Be as disappointed as you want. This thread has been about the CBB house and the people in it. This is what has been discussed, alongside the content inside the house.

I wasn't aware it was also a critique of posters sharing their thoughts, often just wistful musings about the shocking change of a famous actor who, for me, brought back memories of my youth...

Nobody defended his comments towards Jojo. He is out now and I imagine she will not miss him and do well in this series.

People have trashed absolutely JoJo after he made those comments, saying she was baiting an old man. Pathetic. I just don’t get the mourning of a violent woman hating homophobe leaving a show because he was once attractive. Sorry that makes you butthurt I guess
