So we're three days in Mickey Rourke has managed to insult: Jojo and the entire LGBTQ+ community Drag queens Patsy's cooking Donna's weight He's had a telling off from Big Brother re his comments and discussion of nominations Mickey has been nominated by Jojo, who had a killer nomination, and is the first housemate to be up for eviction.

Daley Thompson is immune from being nominated, thanks to Mickey. Trisha has a lot of stories Donna wears an LED mask to bed Jack P Shepherd has been mute 🤐 so far (as his biggest hater, I love it 🤭)

Contains discussion of the spoiler content shown on Late and Live (ITV2) but no further spoilers please 🙏 No spoilers from the live stream or the tabloids Here's the link to thread one: www.mumsnet.com/talk/tellyaddicts/5307304-celebrity-big-brother-starts-mon-7th-april-on-itv

Morning campers! Just catching up as I can't stay up most nights to watch it
(I live in Athens and can't vote either, sadly)

Another one who is loving Mickey, I admit my bias over how HOT he was back in the day slightly influences that, but he has all the makings of a great housemate - plus he hates the orange lunatic!

I've met a few Jacks in my time and they have always been smaller men... Chippy and defensive and always spiky piss takers.

Not a fan of the Smug Youth Pastor (brilliant description 😂) and the Kardashians reference made me cringe... No surprise Danny is a fan of them.

The 3 nominated is disappointing as I think they are far more interesting housemates than the likes of Chris and Ella.

This pretty much sums up how I feel!

Mickey is great hope he wins…he seems sad and lonely and not made the best choices in his life. He’s interesting too, most interesting one in there …love him.

Smug youth pastor is brilliant and very apt.

The ones that are up shouldn’t be…

I want MR to stay. He's so awful in the way he acts and talks I find him rather mesmerising 🙂 and every time he shuffles into a room I'm looking forward to what's about to come out of his mouth. He was asked to appear as he's controversial and he puts the cat among the pigeons. He makes good telly (my opinion anyway).

I found the nom reasons very silly from most of the others and agree it's too early to boot anyone out in less than a week.

I'm not really suggesting he leaves. Its the immediate turn on her and the short memory of that one individual making a joke about raping a 21 year old girl. Within 24 hours jojo is suddenly in the smug angry lesbian stereotype ( which always happens) and people are proclaiming how much they love him.

The second this broke it was always going to end up with he shouldn't have done it, but actually he's very talented, and actually she's annoying nobody who deserves it. She was always going to come out of it worse

As I say I'm out. This is a really common thing that happens to young lesbians. I can't think of a single young lesbian I know that wouldn't have had some jokes about corrective rape made to them. Maybe that's not well known, but it's a real shared experience in the community of people wanting to "fuck you straight"

It turns out I'm happy to fulfill the angry lesbian stereotype but this isn't the right place.
As someone who's had it happening to her when she raised inappropriate behaviour, i thoyght havung it clearly videod might stip it from being the typical "you must have not understood it properly". It's too difficult to watch the
response of but he was nice once to a straight male, she probably deserved it, he's very accomplished. Then when it airs, oh yeah that is bad, she's probably hamming it up though, she definitely provoked him into it, she needed to be put in her place, God why isn't she over it by now, i really love him and she's so irritating.

Within 24 hours she's now the smug one and the pages are full of how much people love him. theres even someone blaming her for wearing ridiculous shorts.

Honestly it's a tale as old as time that clearly isn't going to be broken yet. There's nothing the world hates more than young women

I hoped the younger generation of lesbians, and women would be supported better by women.

marshmallowmix · 11/04/2025 08:55

Do you need to have the app to vote?

PrincessScarlett · 11/04/2025 09:01

I get you @8dateslater . It's not Mickey that is the problem as such but everyone's reaction to what he did and is very indicative of how young gay women are treated in real life. It does worry me as a young female family member has just come out as gay and whilst I am happy for her I am worried for the prejudice she may face even in this day and age.

Jo Jo is incredibly impressive for a 21 year old. She has faced a lot of hate in America for daring to reject the all American straight girl next door. Her confidence and the way she stood up to Mickey was incredible to watch. Compare that to Ella who burst into tears over a break up and others getting nominated (although I'm actually convinced they were tears of relief for herself). I know who I would like my child to be more like.

I do wonder if it's partly because Jo Jo is American as in the past American females have not done so well on CBB. Would it be any different if she was British? I don't know 🤷🏻‍♀️

Giantjoelguesser · 11/04/2025 09:34

I agree, I'd rather raise a Jojo. She's incredibly confident and hard working. I don't find her smug or preachy.
It wasn't her place to pull up Mickey for being messy etc but no-one was gonna do it and that's the reason he is how he is. It must stink where he sleeps, he sleeps in his clothes that he has worn all day and his suitcases are in mess. Did he brush his teeth in the kitchen just for airtime, i can't work out if it's an act or if he lacks basic hygiene.
His comments to Jojo were vile and there's no excuse for it

CellophaneFlower · 11/04/2025 09:39

Mickey for the win! His noms were spot on - nobody wants to be breaking their teeth on broccoli and politicians are all lying wankers.

Loved how Trisha's nom was practically describing herself - too many stories, talking over others. At least he doesn't ask questions that he actually wants to answer himself 🙄

I don't know why Jack is going back to the dodgy comb over. He's had a few hair transplants so is obviously self conscious about his hair but it looks so much better really short. Growing it doesn't hide anything... it just draws attention to it.

CellophaneFlower · 11/04/2025 09:44

I also had to chuckle when JoJo was moaning about someone's feet on the worktop. My 8yo piped up "but JoJo has her shoes on the sofa" 😂

Appalonia · 11/04/2025 10:03

I'm hoping for a Hollywood film style redemption arc for Mickey Rourke, the lonely, troubled bad boy who is actually vulnerable and has a heart of gold deep down. We shall see... It's certainly very watchable!

Same...I wouldn't be surprised if he now wins...🙂

CellophaneFlower · 11/04/2025 10:41

What actually did Bianca/Patsy/Julie cook that Mickey didn't like? He said he likes shepherd's pie and loved a bit of bangers and mash.

Dunkou · 11/04/2025 11:20

I want MR to stay in, but do find him uncomfortable to watch. He is unsocialised after years alone and surely brain damaged after decades of boxing. I just read his wiki, it says in 2009 he was suicidal and used to sleep in his closet, and relied on his dogs to give him the will to stay alive. So he has form for sleeping in weird places.

What he said to JoJo was wrong and spiteful but I think his boundaries have become pretty loose with the lack of human contact and brain issues. I do like JoJo.

MusedeBordeaux · 11/04/2025 12:03

Tuned into L&L, and turned it off. Couldn't bear Dean last year, never liked Olivia and I don't understand why David and those bloody legs are on every night.

Would really like to see some older people taking part.

I think the best era was when Russell Brand was presenting. They always had a good mix of ages in the audience. Anyone remember little Paul Scholes?

Think he made reference to her broccoli being tough. He obviously prefers his veg soft.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 11/04/2025 12:12

I like the l&l chaos 😭 but agree that they need to have some adults in the room! It should be very diverse in terms of age as well

Big Brothers Big Mouth was excellent. I know RB turned out to be a repulsive pos, but the show was a fantastic and a worthy follow up to BB. Late and live is dull in comparison and extremely weak on content and quality.

I’d be happy for him to stay for that comment alone. Loving ‘smug youth pastor’ so much. A round of applause to whoever dreamt that up.

😄 thank you, it fully describes her

Yeah I want to give him another chance, hopefully if he gets it, he doesn't screw it up

I've voted all 5 for Mickey. I want to see more of him, he is by far the most interesting character in there for me. I also love Patsy, she's really kind and generous.
I do feel a bit sorry for Michael because he's so gutted - but I can't vote to save a Tory, I just can't!

I almost felt sorry for him, then checked his voting record on the 'they work for you' site.

TellingBone · 11/04/2025 12:21

Agree that a better mix of age in L&L would be good. I remember little Paul Scholes. And Paul, the older guy that used to sit at the back of the audience every night had good insights.

Patsy's a bit po-faced and boring isn't she? That's surprised me.

Can't stand Danny constantly patronising MR alternating with blowing smoke up Fabricant's arse.

MonickerMonica · 11/04/2025 12:30

I only watch the 9pm one hour show. Late and live would be overdosing to me and if I can avoid David Potts it has to be a good thing. I can't stand his voice or his gimmicky bare legs. I find him repulsive. There I've said it 🤪. If MR leaves tonight or soon then my interest in the show will plummet.

MonickerMonica · 11/04/2025 12:55

If the man with the wig is wearing a wig then is the wig glued on? Or does he only remove the wig in the shower? If it's a wig it's a terrible wig. He should have bought a better wig. He hasn't confirmed it's a wig or denied it's a wig. I don't really care if it's a wig or not a wig.

Wig mentions. 11

Nothing wrong with wearing one but there are much more natural ones available.

Sorry for the silly post. I'm in a daft mood and it's a glorious day.🥳

I agree about Patsy. I was hoping she had more of Bianca in her. Shame.

Agreed. And for someone who apparently loves getting his legs out, he always looked incredibly self conscious when he was a contestant, always pulling his top down. If you're not actually comfortable flashing the flesh why do it? Oh right, because it's your trademark 🙄

If you're wearing such a terrible wig you can't possibly not own it or take offence to people that ask about it.

I also didn't get why he inferred he wasn't balding. It's almost as though he feels it's OK to wear a wig if you don't need to but being outed for wearing one as he's thinning is abuse. Plus he made a joke about someone knocking his wig when he came in 🤷‍♀️

Anyway.. I'm still sore about wigs. I made a joke about an obvious wig on a LI contestant once and got branded a racist 🙄

I mentioned on the other thread Jack has a reputation of being a bit of a nob in my town, especially when with a group of mates

what gets me is he's had hardly any air time. I want to know and see what he's been doing to wind up so many people in such a short amount of time
