The Residence, Young Sheldon, X-Files, Jonathan Creek, Ebola Holmes, Golden Girls

what else would I like that I can watch with dd16? Nothing overtly violent or gruesome because I’m a delicate soul.

The Residence (just finished it tonight! The denouement was a bit long-winded, but the humour was brilliant)

sorry! Didn’t read properly and see you already mentioned The Residence. In that case, maybe Ludwig?

Allaboardtheraveytrain · 05/04/2025 21:58

I lile the same stuff as you! Try Castle (currently on Disney+) and The Good Place (Netflix).

They're both fun, quirky and easy to watch without being too stupid

Ohmych · 05/04/2025 21:59

I've been watching Shakespeare and Hathaway about private detectives has jo Joyner. There's not much gore. It's on bbc

Wednesday

BobnLen · 06/04/2025 16:20

High Potential on Disney

Taniot · 06/04/2025 16:22

A Man on the Inside on Netflix is good

Haveapotato · 06/04/2025 16:23

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder was excellent I thought - I think it's a BBC series but poss also on Netflix. And also Search Party which I think was also BBC.

ladymalfoy45 · 06/04/2025 16:24

@BobnLen I love that show!

LegoTherapy · 06/04/2025 19:17

Thank you!
I forgot to mention we’d watched Wednesday. I knew I was forgetting something!
We settled on Anne with an E in the end. Dd has watched it all but we’d started watching together a while ago. We are only about 6 episodes in. I think I’d like something quite lighthearted to give some respite from GCSE stress.

I’m loving High Potential and Will Trent on Disney

LegoTherapy · 03/05/2025 21:37

we finished Anne with an E last weekend and loved it. We are now going to try High Potential with a cup of tea and homemade scones. They rhyme with bones of course 😁
Thank you for the recommendations.

I thought of The Good Place too! Ludwig? Julia? Veronica Mars? Poker Face?

LegoTherapy · 03/05/2025 23:56

Lots of ideas for when we finish High Potential, thank you. We’ve watched the first episode tonight and loved it. It’s like Monk but modernised and a woman instead of a man and more ADHD than OCD.

Try Inventing Anna.
Produced by Shondaland who produced The Residence. Her company also does Bridgerton.

BingoBling · 04/05/2025 00:32

Ludwig - assume its still on iplayer

Agree - The Good Girls guide to murder is well worth a watch.

Also Inventing Anna as a pp has suggested.

Also enjoyed Apples Never Fall.

We love High Potential but disappointed not to be able to watch the French original which doesn't appear to be shown on any platform🙁unless anyone knows different.
