Granny Murray - is "Granny" a Scottish term of endearment, or did she have kids when she was 9?

Just idly wondering why...

It's a bit iffy that you all call the bloke at the market shifty, when he has obviously been cast so that young children don't automatically think people with similar problems are shifty and stare at them! Mickey John is MUCH creepier, as is whichever one of Pocket and Sweet isn't in a wheelchair, the strange one with bobbed hair and the demeanour of a 5 year old.

I think Bobbie just cleans the buses till midnight - I seem to remember watching the clock once, I think it started at 5pm, so she just does one lot of buses.

I'm guessing Granny Murray is 45, I know a lot of very youthful looking Scots. She mostly looks after 5 year olds, so that would be just fine, honey pie.

nickytwotimes · 15/05/2008 20:48

Agree. mickey john is creepy!
The words "sex offenders register " spring to mind!

louii · 15/05/2008 20:49

It took me a few viewing to realise that market man was actually blind, felt bad for wondering why he was never looking at the bloody camera

MrTumbledoesmyheadin · 15/05/2008 20:49

VoodooCoconut · 15/05/2008 20:53

Ebenes - your mention of pocket and sweet adds Balamory to this wonderful discussion -

I adore Plum!!!!! I love his song 'I found your doggy' and 'wee beasties...watch them run!' He could tell us all about the birds and the bees you know!!!

and...does he have a thing for scarey-faced Miss Houllie??!!

VoodooCoconut · 15/05/2008 20:54

the train guy is something of a fox..

louii · 15/05/2008 20:55

Are plum and the inventor guy not real life partners?

VoodooCoconut · 15/05/2008 20:57

No Way!!!! the inventor guy is a total mystery to me, an awful actor,
and in the title song what are the words

'here is miss houllie to tell us a story now where does it all begin...

here is archie he's ever so _?

bargy? parchy? it drives me insane!!

NurkMagiggy · 15/05/2008 20:57

She never knows who is in her house does she?
Let's see who's home today honey pie!
Ooh I seem to have found some wee bairns in my sitting room. Whose the hell are these?

No she is utterly mad.
It was the theme song to my last 20 weeks of morning sickness, the tune makes me heave to this day.

NurkMagiggy · 15/05/2008 20:57

louii · 15/05/2008 21:00

Ever so arty?? thank feck for that!

AitchTwoCiao · 15/05/2008 21:00

it was isla st clair, she filmed it for a while and then realised the workload was too much, apparently. by that point a lot of the other stuff had been done.

having said that, why they didn't plonk a grey wig on her head is a mystery to me.

NurkMagiggy · 15/05/2008 21:01

Yeah well not really when it doesn't rhyme. Bloody odd programme.

Talking of shifty bloke, I got leapt on a year or two ago after I called him shifty as well, and realised I never registered the guy actually was an actor ...but it isn't the eyes, he really is shifty full stop. Nothing to do with the eyes.
Everyone on that show is really weird.

NurkMagiggy · 15/05/2008 21:02

Isla sinclair used to sing on boats, right?

georgiemama · 15/05/2008 21:02

god its not just me who feels homicidal when PC Plum hoves into view then? Could he be any less effective? And yes, the non wheelchair one in the sweetshop has a demented demeanour which makes me suspect ground glass in the sweetie jars.

My DH fancies Josie Jump though. And Sarah Jane from Tikabilla.

AitchTwoCiao · 15/05/2008 21:02

lol at the lavender marriage btw. how did that kid get there??!!

may2december · 15/05/2008 21:03

I thought it was 'wacky' voodoo

VoodooCoconut · 15/05/2008 21:03

sarah jane has such a smackable face.

NurkMagiggy · 15/05/2008 21:04

I want the other one from tikabilla I'm afraid. Not Justin, you know, the handsome sweet one. I could do things to him.

VoodooCoconut · 15/05/2008 21:04

here is Archie he's ever so arty

here is Archie he's ever so wacky

EBenes · 15/05/2008 21:05
