The BBC has confirmed the release date for Austin, an Australian comedy drama series starring Ben Miller and Sally Phillips.
The series premiered Down Under back in June of last year, and will finally be coming to UK on Friday, April 4.
the first episode will air on BBC One at 9.30pm.
Julian heads down under for a book signing tour and Austin finally gets to meet his father
He was conceived when his Aussie mum was in London many years ago
Not long after, Julian's neurodivergent son that he never knew existed – the titular Austin – turns up out of the blue.
The show stars Miller as children's author Julian Hartswood, who has seemingly ruined the career of both himself and his illustrator wife Ingrid, played by Phillips, after posting something he shouldn't have on social media.
Julian wonders if embracing his child and building a 'modern' nuclear family – all captured by a documentary crew, of course – will be his ticket out of cancellation jail.
He'll soon learn, however, that Austin isn't the pushover he expected, while Ingrid isn't exactly on his side either.
As turns out Austin was conceived after they had started dating
Alongside Death in Paradise (https://www.digitalspy.com/death-in-paradise/) actor Miller and Bridget Jones (https://www.digitalspy.com/bridget-jones/) star Phillips, the series also stars
