Whilst I see her point, I think in Elliot’s head that IS him opening up and talking about something that that affected him.

His little sister was in a coma. He felt hopeless and unable to help her. And his Dad’s response to the situation, shaped how he deals with his emotions.

The way she handled it and spoke to him, was really quite nasty and uncalled for. Seemed a very OTT reaction from her. Like she was looking for a problem. I think what Lauren said has very much stayed with her and her guard has gone right up.

And I am sorry Morena, with the absolute best will (and lighting) in the world he did not confuse you for 40. Do you look 57? No. But you don’t look 40 either.

Granted it’s a low move of Tony to suddenly invent the desperate desire for a child, as if they’d ever have matched him with a 35 year old anyway.

Morena though. Christ she grinds my gears. Most people who make their heritage their entire personality do to be honest. Possibly a me problem but all these Australian people pronouncing this other Australian persons accent with an Italian inflection just seems so unnecessary. (Two of my closest friends are from Rome, and neither insist that non-Italians pronounce their names with an Italian accent!)

How does it not reveal anything about him? He was so overcome with emotion that day that he vowed never to let emotion control him again. It explains why he has become more surface level now as he has learned to push his emotions way way way down over time! That reveals a lot about him?? And it is a good starting point if he does eventually want to learn to start handling his emotions?

Eliots desire to never be overwhelmed with emotion doesn’t track especially well with his desire to have 4 or 5 kids to be honest. Kind of comes with the territory…
