OMG how many people are in that room!!!!!

MissingMyHeels · 12/05/2008 21:52

I would not have tolerated that many people near me in labour! Well done her for having a home birth though, very brave!

YouNeverKnow · 12/05/2008 21:53

Wasn't that lovely having so many generations all present

Lubyloo · 12/05/2008 21:58

Not the way I'd choose to give birth with that many people watching but I thought it was lovely. It must have really helped her having all her family there.

EssieW · 12/05/2008 22:00

thought that home birth was wonderful (couldn't cope with an audience of my family but thought 'go girl').

Fantastic school - all the teachers and staff seemed so human and committed to their job - and proud of what they were doing.

TheWiltedRose · 12/05/2008 22:00

Anyone watching that abortion one tomorrow?

Milliways · 12/05/2008 22:02

I have started a Thread on that one too!

Really enoyed watching that. The school seemed like such a fabulous place and a life saver for the girls.

I was a bit shocked at how the parents of the girls seemed to be ok with their children having children so young, but at least they were suppporting them.

I had Dd1 at 19 and it was overwhelming then, god knows how i'd have coped at 13.

MissingMyHeels · 12/05/2008 22:03

I think I will be watching tomorrow - will be interesting to see how it is done.

spugs · 12/05/2008 22:17

that was fab, thought the homebirth was brilliant and she seemed to manage so well. my 15 year old cousin is due to give birth in 5 weeks and was offered a place in a similar school which she turned down as she wants to stay with her friends. ive taped it for her though.

Piffle · 12/05/2008 22:29

fabulously sensitive and sweet programme. Captured so much of why that school matters so much and what it gives those girls.
fab birth all those women there
awesome

missblythe · 13/05/2008 14:30

Just watched it on Sky+.

One minute I was roaring my head of at the idea of 27 people sat around smoking while you give birth in a pool filled from a grubby looking garden hose, the next SOBBING because she was doing so well, and a lovely ickle baby came.

Hormones. Great, no?

Lucycat · 14/05/2008 13:38

I've just got round to watching this, my friend teaches at the school (and was in the programme) They have 11 new girls starting at the school in September This town is such a diverse place, there is a real divide in the areas.
