Morning all! Shame Cam and Katie have been knocked out. And Matteo of course.

I woke up super early this morning and caught the end of Big Foe vs Yosuke Watanuki. I might have developed a wee crush on Yosuke, he’s lovely and played amazingly.

I'm slightly confused that Brooksby is playing using a protected ranking (as he did at AO) after being out of the game for suspension for doping offences.

How is that a deterrent then? Surely part of the punishment of being suspended, is losing ranking points and dropping down? It's not the same as being out through injury. They are basically saying 'we penalised you for doing that, but here's a quick way back'. Especially for someone like Jenson, who is a pretty decent player.

Makes no sense to me.

Having googled, it seems it's because his suspension was reduced on appeal (retrospectively?) so he must be eleigible to 'claim back ' time he wasn't able to play for.

Or something. Maybe .

The doping rules are a mess, honestly.

I’ve seen some players expressing concern about the doping rules. Particularly around things that are very easily transmitted (e.g. whatever it was that did for Jannik). The quote I saw (which I think was actually Holger’s mum!) was saying that they don’t want to get to a point where players are too scared to have photos taken with or sign autographs with the public just in case people had used a banned substance. It’s a good point.

The sound is annoying me- the commentatary is so quiet, I deafen myself every time I turn over. It's always an issue on Sky.

Chessie I agree- it wouldn't take much to pass on something, would it? if players can be banned for coming into contact with a substance.

And fans can be bonkers - it would be far easier to sabotage a rival that way than stab someone (as happened with Seles).

(Also makes you wonder about all the gastro issues - might not be PED related- but it feels like something is going on).

Yes I saw that Chessie. It makes sense that if a physiotherapist can transfer a substance then so could anyone!

Ugo hired his own chef instead of a coach to try to avoid food poisoning. It seems mad that food poisoning is such a problem compared to the real world!

I’m sure I read that Ugo hired the chef because he doesn’t like American food! But I wouldn’t blame him either way.
