Dear God.

Has anyone seen this? No wonder the US is keen on capital punishment.

I’ve rarely considered if evil exists, but safe to say the two female torturers don’t show Mormons at their best.

Such an interesting documentary. The eldest boy was still so attached to his mother. He said she went from fun and loving to abusive. The girl said in hindsight she was always abusive but that it went from bad to worse.

The Dad thing was mad. Emotionally abused himself really I suppose. But it is hard to understand why he still loved her.

Oh does she?

I didn’t pick up on that.

i heard her saying “that’s not my mum” and showing a neighbour a video of how she was before.

so I thought she had been ok before.

I just find it so wild and unbelievable that so many people could be completely brainwashed by that Hilldebrant woman.

any of the clips of her speaking, at lectures or on those Men Group zoom calls she was just talking utter garbage.

She obviously made a huge amount of money from it, and really brainwashed people….which I just find incredible

Just watched this and I'm stunned. That poor boy and girl. I wish there had been an update at the end on how they are, but I guess they couldn't due to confidentiality.

Whilst the husband didn't partake in the worst abuses, he has clearly been coerced and manipulated. I'm not saying he was any kind of hero, but you hear of brainwashing and coercion happening to women. Why not men sometimes?

I agree with this. I know a man who was a victim of abuse and it took him a very long time to realise. He was completely in love with his wife and 100% believed all the shit she was throwing at him. We hear about it on here so often the other way round but it does happen to men too. (And no I'm not a NAMALT or not my Nigel, just my first hand experience). His reaction at the police station was completely genuine imo and we don't know that he didn't ask how the kids were, we just know what was shown.

I’ve just watched this. I’m really worried - does the dad have custody of the 4 little kids?? Do Shari and chad talk to their dad still - I’m guessing they must to get to see their younger siblings.

inhope ruby rots in jail and never comes out. I’m less angry at Jodi, it’s less awful to abuse someone else’s kids. To do it to your own is more unfathomable

I believe the dad has custody. It was on an update on a different documentary about it. Think its on Netflix.

ACPC · 09/01/2026 14:02

Its about Jodi, called Evil Influencer I think.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 09/01/2026 19:06

@ACPC. Yes I have watched that. It’s interesting I thought how there was focus on different areas. Particularly the fact that the Mormon Church may have influenced how things played out.

Yes the older kids are back involved with their siblings and their Dad. I read the eldest daughter’s autobiography which was fascinating.
