Cassie's walking around with her tail between her legs, as Ken rumbled her nasty little game. Tracey saw through her but few others did, and Cassie's attempts to fool Tracey were lame. Hope still wants to be friends with her nan, but no-one wants Cassie around. She wants some love and friendship and support, but there's really very little to be found.

David wants someone to kill him so his family will be looked after. He wants someone to hit him with a car, these storylines are getting dafter! Kevin's got cancer it appears to be spreading, which is really quite worrying and sad. Rosie and Sophie haven't made an appearance yet, are they not worried about their dad?

Carla had her brother Rob's kidney, he's in jail for murder, under guard, but the guard is his girlfriend, and not be trusted, so escaping from the hospital wasn't hard. Abi's still struggling after seeing Mason killed, but trying to pull herself together. Her portrait of Kevin was a sight to behold, Debbie thought she'd be laughing forever.

Carla and Swain are still loved up, and Eileen's sister Julie's shown her face. She says she's got cancer, how awful if she has it too. Seems it's turning up all over the place. Leanne and Toyah's story has quietened down a bit, and the institution's in the past, Daisy's telling Daniel he's the baby daddy but he's not, I wonder how long the lie will last.

Jenny's about to be kicked off the deeds, at the Rovers against her wishes. Daniel's bailing her and Daisy out, and wants to make Daisy his missus. Max got a chunk of time in jail for setting fire to his house. And Dylan's incarcerated for possessing a knife, but is keeping as quiet as a mouse.

The Baileys have dwindled, and DeeDee where is she? Ronnie's still about, and easy on the eyes is he! I've probably missed something important I expect, and I'm sorry if I've missed something out. It's hard to remember everything and everyone, and make sure you don't miss nowt!

I will draw a veil over the Debbie-Doctor scenes which were poorly written. And I anticipate the entire storyline will be too.

I enjoyed other parts of the episode though, especially the scenes in the Rovers which were proper Corrie.

As for DD and her baby, give me strength.

Mollypolly2610 · 09/04/2025 22:14

That doctor was awful and so was his consulting room never seen so many lamps and the room was still dark.

Shellingbynight · 09/04/2025 22:15

I suppose it was supposed to look 'luxe'!
No doctor would diagnose dementia like that. It was ridiculous.

JellyBeanFactory · 09/04/2025 22:16

I initially thought Debbie was in a virtual Drs appointment, that would have made more sense as she should have delivered all her lines as a monologue. She was good but was let down by the Dr who was very wooden. And I’m sure he would have said he was referring her to rule out anything serious rather than make a tentative diagnosis on her retelling her symptoms.

If Debbie does have dementia (and I really hope she doesn’t), I hope she tells Ronnie and it doesn’t become one of those secret stories where nobody knows.

The incidental scenes (darts, shop (Aadi!), gardens with Bernie were good.

However, on Monday Bernie was out with Gemma & the new woman drinking, the night before they were due to go holiday. Yet, here was Bernie in the cafe working and then talking to Debbie in daytime. So, either it was the next day and the whole story of Chesney getting on the road for 7:30am (so we were left thinking Gemma wouldn’t make it) was a false flag or the writers have git their timelines in a twist!

and Dorian, turning up on doorstep, trafficked to the UK by an unknown? But he is cute so he can stay.

Clawdy · 09/04/2025 22:17

Yes, the Doctor-Debbie scenario was not well done. Enjoyed the pub darts match though! But as usual, it looked like an evening event until they all emerged into the daylight!

zanahoria · 09/04/2025 22:19

Did Dorin just parachute in?

Shellingbynight · 09/04/2025 22:29

How could I forget Dorin? Adorable. I'm glad he's back.

Empress13 · 09/04/2025 22:37

That poor baby how many new homes and mummy and daddy’s is she going to have! Forgive me if I’m wrong but wouldn’t SS be involved knowing that DD was putting her up for adoption shouldn’t they be checking on her welfare. She’s been pushed from pillar to post! I’m sorry they’re giving Deb this storyline I just hope she does the storyline justice

He did the classic soap doctor thing of saying he was not qualified to diagnose then doing it anyway

Surely James should be looking after him? He wanted to adopt so has the same responsibilities as a natural parent. There is nothing he can do for his boyfriend but his son needs him.

HaddyAbrams · 09/04/2025 23:13

I think I've been on MN too long, every time someone types DD on this thread I read it as darling daughter, not Dee Dee.

Lovely too see Dorin back, but as if he'd be so happy and comfortable with Tyrone so quickly. He's only met him once, and only for a week (?). I don't think he'd even remember him.

Gutted they're doing the Debbie storyline. She's one of the only decent characters.

@zanahoria , James wanted to adopt the baby but hasn't yet. Do legally I don't think he has any rights/responsibilities. Morally he might, but that's a matter of opinion I guess.

Edited

The baby is a girl.

DeeDeesfabulouswardrobe · 10/04/2025 00:05

Dorin! 😍 such a lovely little boy and is completely natural love his ad lib ‘this chips skinny” he seems to love being on set and appears to love Tyrone!

Clawdy · 10/04/2025 08:06

Dorin is a real contrast to Bertie!

InALonelyWorld · 10/04/2025 08:29

The secret dementia storyline is currently being done in Eastenders with Nigel, so i hope its not going down that route with Debbie.

Its strange how they are giving the Webster clan all the serious and life threatening illnesses, I'm sure the big characters will do these storylines justice but I do wonder if its being considered whether to get rid of them or not.

I agree that the Debbie/doctor scenes were a bit odd and poorly done. At first I thought she was doing one of those monologue things like David and Mason had. I suppose the positive is that they are portraying more signs of dementia rather than just using the forgetfulness.

Shellingbynight · 10/04/2025 08:47

You can bet Debbie will not tell anyone until she has to (probably after some disaster with Laila). They always keep these things secret in soaps. And if Ronnie gets round to asking her to marry him she'll say no because of her secret.

I wish Chesney would grow a pair and tell her to help him get ready for holiday. Please some realism for a change and I thought they were skint. Most people would be frantic trying to be organised

why is Bernie encouraging her to be like this

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 10/04/2025 08:58

I don’t think dementia would be diagnosed that quickly, surely they would rule out other things first.

@Shellingbynight You can definitely see an incident coming with baby Laila being left with Debs at some point.

ETA-didnt mean to quote and tag 🤦🏽‍♀️

The baby is a girl.

Of course, I was getting her mixed up with Frankie

Too many of Joel's offspring around.

His wife and other child will probably move in next

And purely on pragmatic grounds he should stick with his daughter just in case DD changes her mind

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 10/04/2025 08:58

It absolutely wouldn't. The GP may suspect but would never give that diagnosis because he could be wrong. They would refer to 'rule things out'. It is also very unusual for the person concerned to go to the doctor off their own bat, because one of the main signs of dementia is denial and an inability to grasp what is happening.

strugglingwithlife · 10/04/2025 10:36

Really gutted they are giving Debbie dementia if that's what is happening with her, she's one of the best characters in years

I know. He is lovely. I wondered if he was the real life son of Alan Halsall - Tyrone - when I first saw him as he is so happy around him.

TellingBone · 10/04/2025 11:09

Yes I'm disappointed about the Debbie storyline. She's an example of the kind of strong, northern women that the serial was founded on.

I seem to recall on a previous thread someone said that Dorin IRL is the son of one of the producers? He's certainly a delightful little boy.
