My viewing life is now complete until the new Gilded age and Daryl Dixon come back.

Just finished series one of Prime Target, highly enjoyable.

OP posts:
Oblomov25 · 06/04/2025 15:11

Going to watch it tonight, after the football.

Firenzeflower · 06/04/2025 15:25

I need to watch it again.

Spencer Dutton needs his own show where the camera is just on him and no one else.

roofingtooting · 06/04/2025 15:39

I got quite emotional at the end.

So am I right in thinking John would be John aka Kevin Costner’s dad?

The new baby is Kevin Costner's grandad I think.

Shadesofscarlett · 06/04/2025 17:04

actually no I think I am wrong. New baby is John Dutton 2, Kevin is John Dutton 3 isn't he.

Firenzeflower · 06/04/2025 17:41

Sorry does Spencer have two children?

Shadesofscarlett · 06/04/2025 17:55

at the end they said he later had a baby with a widow, but would not marry her.

LordJohnGrey · 06/04/2025 18:22

Spencer brother was John Dutton 1. Jack was John Dutton 2. New Baby is John Dutton 3, he is Kevin Costners grandad.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 06/04/2025 18:25

Watching now. I hate all the Timothy Dalton stuff, it’s just gratuitous and adds absolutely nothing

millymoo1202 · 06/04/2025 19:08

I had a good cry 😢

Oblomov25 · 06/04/2025 19:28

Oh my fucking god.
It was so sad. The final clip of them dancing together killed me.

I was so sad. So angry with Taylor Sheridan. For the writing, for giving us the chemistry of Spencer and Alex, which was the only reason I watched series1.

and then they were never together in a series 2.

and then he finally found her when she lit the fire in the car. He came back for her and then she died with a child.

who I thought would actually die.

Jacks wife left. I got the impression form family trees that Spencer and Ale's child died, (Boyd clearly that wasn't the case from these scenes) , but that Jacks wife dies in childbirth, but Spencer took his child?

because I thought it was Jack's wife whose child who would succeed them but it turns out that is actually Spencer and Alex child John who lives so that changes things in the history.

because that's not what you read from the family pattern, etc. rumours.

but I was so sad there was so little of Alex and Spencer together.

and it was also rushed.

and I was like why are you rushing us?

You spent 6 episodes toying with us and then you've crammed it all in, it was so slow before and now it's all cramped in, and it's actually really shit writing.

I'm so glad Spencer shot Whitfield. and all the porn and everything as everyone, public was always complaining about it was so poor.

like seriously what sort of fucking series is Sheridan writing. he's got a bandwidth on this and we're all lapping it up, but he is seriously shit. As a producer. It's so poor is so shit. I'm actually really angry.

Can’t be. Kevin C is John Dutton III.

I am wondering if Spencer’s second child and widow is Elizabeth?

This would become clear in 1944 if indeed it is the next series for Taylor S.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 06/04/2025 19:33

Me Too. I agree with what you say wish I hadn’t invested so much. Fuck you Taylor Sheridan.

Oblomov25 · 06/04/2025 19:55

I'm fucking furious. 😡 AngryAngryAngry

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 06/04/2025 19:55

I mean I loved 1883 even though the end was sad, it was fitting, this was charging about absurdly to no purpose week after week to an implausible and shit end

gladiator12 · 06/04/2025 21:33

Finale was abysmal and made all the previous episodes obsolete. What on earth was the point of them going through all their problems to return to Montana to have an ending like that. As for the gratuitous pornographic sex scenes - horrible and added nothing at all to the story.

Oblomov25 · 07/04/2025 08:36

I've watched parts of it again. There are bits I missed last night when watching. How he stares at her, the subtle glances he gives her. It was so beautiful.
And Spencer in his chaps. As he goes out to collect cattle. What a sight that was!

I still think she made yet another stupid decision. Like the decision where she Paul and Hillary drove on instead of stopping at a hotel. she'd had the baby someone else could've cared for it while she did have surgery and then at least he would've had her in his life, which he would've accepted.

and she said oh I don't want to dream of running in the fields, I want to do it. but the choice of either having a life or no life at all. i'm surprised he didn't beg her. Please don't leave me. I feel her decision was wrong, not the decision to have the child, but after afterwards she could've quickly given child to Jacob, gone to surgery and someone could've looked after the child. I feel this is a very bad decision on her part. Very sad. .

I agree he would have begged. Also she chose to leave her newborn. I don't think a new mother would do that. Let alone leave him.

Oblomov25 · 07/04/2025 12:28

And whilst all life is precious, babies die. If she'd have lived they'd have had eachother. And a chance of another baby.

roofingtooting · 07/04/2025 13:50

If Whitfield and Banner were the start of the Train Station how did the Duttons know about it? Did I miss something or may be that is to come in 1944?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 07/04/2025 16:00

@roofingtooting I thought the Sherrif warned them?

I thought that! As far as I recall, it was Whitfield who had spotted it, and only told Banner and the crooked deputies (all of whom died in the shoot out)

So how did it become the Dutton "train station" ?

mumbleberry · 07/04/2025 23:11

so glad there’s a thread, so many questions!

All along I had assumed whichever baby was going to happen would be KC’s grandad, but actually all the reviews are going with this baby being KC’s dad, which I guess actually does make sense given we saw KC’s approx 80 year old dad in a flash back in 2000 ish?

Could a baby this premature actually have survived then though?

Also wasn’t Jack’s wife pregnant when she left? This wasn’t mentioned at all by Cara

mumbleberry · 07/04/2025 23:13

Shadesofscarlett · 07/04/2025 09:55

It was put forward that she was giving him a fighting chance rather than going to surgery although I didn’t particular follow this idea

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/04/2025 12:31

Also wasn’t Jack’s wife pregnant?

I wondered why this was dropped as well
