It looks like he's a serious case and in it for the rest of his life but for some it was only at night or for some of the day. It all depended on the paralysis of their chest muscles. If the paralysis was permanent then you were stuck with it.

That Quiras? Device was used until very recently. There was a bloke on 'hospital' in the early 00's who was the longest person in one.

He'd only done one year of his course so was able to change.
