The Traitors #9 - 'why am I still here?'

Just two episodes to go until we find out who will be victorious - the traitors or the faithfuls.

Will Alexander save the faithfuls?

Will Charlotte lead Freddie like a lamb to the slaughter?

Who will feel Leanne's wrath tonight?

Will Frankie cry at the banishment?

Not long until we find out!

Caught up at crazy 'o clock!
Accidentally fell asleep early evening, snuggled with the cats (tiring day!) and woke up in the small hours, so thought I might as well catch up on the game, and feed back to this thread! My body thinks it's morning now 😄

Anyway, what a packed episode! I haven't read much of this thread, as it's filled so incredibly quickly! Oh my gosh! So coming with my own thoughts...

Oh poor poor Freddie 😢 What a sweet lovely young man. I felt so so sorry for him. He's definitely still faithful Freddie. The heart and soul of a good faithful to the end. An innocent lured to a life of crime against his will, like Dickens' Oliver or similar (sorry, that's probably a terrible analogy! Sorry!)

I'm always team faithful; so longing for an Alexander win! What a true gentleman, and they don't make many like that anymore ❤️ I wanted him to win with Freddie 🙁 But of the remaining faithfuls, it'd be nice if he won with Frankie, but not sure if she's put herself in a tricky position by choosing Charlotte? I actually quite like Jake. I know many on here don't, but I don't really understand why?

I hoped Frankie would choose Alexander to reveal his role, and they'd be allied as faithfuls. But, c'est la vie. It's just a game. I remind myself of that!

I can't join in with the hate of certain players. It's a heavily edited TV game, and we've only got to know them in a particular context, where they're competing to win. We don't see the full picture.

Anyway, go Alexander!

I'm late to the thread but I will be so cranky if Leann wins. It feels a bit of a fix in her favor at this point.

I’ve been thinking the same. However it could also be that she’s the winner 😭😬 and so the editing is reflecting that. Obviously I’ve no idea.

Im #teamAlexander and I’ll very miffed if Leanne or Charlotte win.

outofofficeagain · 24/01/2025 06:54

As Freddie completely muffed it about Leanne and the shield, I kept thinking about him saying he wanted to be Prime Minister.

Not sure whether that makes him more suitable or not.

In Freddie's defence the production team stuffed him up by him coming into breakfast nearly last so he was sat next to Leanne when she came in. If he's been the other end of the table then he might have handled it better.

However he had all day to think about where Minah told him so saying in the bar at the end was totally doofus

I actually quite like Jake. I know many on here don't, but I don't really understand why?

@WinterCosiness If you have been watching the series from the start, many of us started disliking Jake when he accused Kaz of being a traitor, and making the "saving lives during the day and killing by night" comment. This was very ordinal and to be fair, a pretty moronic thing for Jake to say. Kaz was ostracised up to his banishment, and a lot if people felt that he and Joe were the driving force.

He's very forceful and argumentative I find, and often wants to have the last say.

I haven't minded him as much over the last few episodes, but I don't like his anti Alexander attitude.

It's the 'I voted for yourself' that should have got him banished early on.

PuppyMonkey · 24/01/2025 07:19

So excited for tonight. I can’t remember a show on telly before where DD and I were both shouting: “Please don’t end now, please don’t end now!”

It’s the drama, Mick - I love it!

Any of them could win at this stage but I’m guessing Charlotte (I still quite love her, she’s made it more interesting) will throw it back at Frankie and tell everyone she’s lying because she’s a traitor. So both of them will get voted off along with the blessed Alexander, who people still don’t trust. And the rest will win together?

Also the aggression toward furniture when a traitor gets voted out and the poor beheaded and disemboweled bear 🐻

Was that Jake who said that about being a killer at night? I thought it was Dan. That was all at the stage where Joe, Jake and Dan were the same person in my mind. Grin

PuppyMonkey · 24/01/2025 07:23

I always seem to join the end of these threads and then someone starts a new one. Grin

Stowickthevast · 24/01/2025 07:24

I'd forgotten the poor bear @happinessischocolate

I would love to see a Frankie-Alexander win but think we'll get Leanne-Jake.

I didn't mind Charlotte last week when are was recruited or even getting rid of Minah as that's what traitors do, but I didn't like her manipulation of poor Freddie. Good game play but really felt for him.

Stowickthevast · 24/01/2025 07:25

@PuppyMonkey it was definitely Jake. Dan wasn't really part of the attack Kas crew - Joe and Jake were the ones that were really pushing it.

Ineedashero · 24/01/2025 07:37

I'm confused by the seer thing.
Can Frankie make Charlotte tell her the status of other players too or just her own status? Are there any more banishments and if so, is this the episode where they dont say their true status?

Just her own status

Yes there will be as many banishments as they want before they choose to end the game. Banished players won't reveal their status.

It's interesting they've never had series 1 winners Meryl, Hannah or Aaron on Uncloaked.

Because they were so boring?!

xsquared · 24/01/2025 07:44

Yep, that was definitely Jake. Plenty of other reasons why he's unpopular, but some people obviously like him.

I'm sorry Freddie went, and really took against Charlotte when she smirked at his slip up at the round table. Yes, I know it's heavily edited, but she is coming across as very pantomime villain now, what with her maniacal expressions as well.

Pumpkincozynights · 24/01/2025 07:48

Yes I think it’s obvious Frankie was banking on picking a faithful when she chose Charlotte. She wasn’t expecting her to be a traitor. She was hoping to band together with Charlotte and banish the others by convincing them that they were both faithfuls the others would not have voted either of them off ( except for the traitors of course.)
That was Alexander’s plan too he believes Frankie is a faithful so hoped she would chose him, and see that he to is a faithful they could have formed an alliance.
The remaining faithfuls Leanne and Jake now cannot be sure who is faithful as both Charlotte and Frankie will say the other is a traitor. Leanne could go on Freddie’s vote for Charlotte as a sign that she is the traitor.
The other problem for the faithful is the lack of reveal this year which has been pointed out.
Even though I was 100% team Minah, I don’t really care who wins now. I think whoever wins deserves it due to the immense stress they all must be under.

Pumpkincozynights · 24/01/2025 07:50

Also believe Alexander will believe Charlotte.
I think Jake still has suspicions about Alexander.
It could go badly for Frankie and Alexander with Jake thinking they are both traitors.

Pumpkincozynights · 24/01/2025 07:50

Sorry Alexander will believe FRANKIE.

dapsnotplimsolls · 24/01/2025 07:54

I don't think Frankie or Alexander have enough clout to persuade the others to get rid of Charlotte. I'd prefer Jake and Leanne to share than Charlotte taking it all.

Fountofwisdom · 24/01/2025 07:56

I’ve found this year’s cast very unlikeable on the whole, with a couple of exceptions. Minah deserved to get to the Final. Fozia would have been a fantastic player if she hadn’t gone in Death Match.

Couldn’t bear Linda or obnoxious Joe. Also can’t stand Frankie, she’s such a highly-strung, entitled middle aged woman (I bet she’s on MN) and she gets everything wrong. Even screwed up last night’s mission by getting everyone to end the mission when they had 2 minutes left. She’s really irritating.

Leeanne is far too aggressive and I really dislike the way she runs off for a confrontation any time her name has been mentioned. Has shown nothing of her supposed army intelligence tactics. She’s only still there because people are frightened to say her name at the round table.

Alexander is nice enough, but really just a posh public school boy, hasn’t done much with his diplomatic skills and he’s really not as clever as some seem to think.

Would love to see Charlotte turn tables on Frankie now and take her down with her. But also don’t understand all the hate on Charlotte. She hit the ground running as a Traitor and has been a great one so far.

Jake is probably the one of the remaining players who is least objectionable, and shows some actual deduction skill, so he probably deserves to win.

Completely agree with all of this!

Pumpkincozynights · 24/01/2025 08:00

I think the use of yourself is don’t to one of two things:

  1. lack of grammatical knowledge
  2. politeness. I think for a lot of the contestants the use of ‘you’ is seen as a bit rude and aggressive. It’s like saying she and he in front of that person, rude.
Pumpkincozynights · 24/01/2025 08:01

Damn auto correct 🤣🤣🤣
