The Traitors #9 - 'why am I still here?'

witchycat2 · 23/01/2025 08:31

Just two episodes to go until we find out who will be victorious - the traitors or the faithfuls.

Will Alexander save the faithfuls?

Will Charlotte lead Freddie like a lamb to the slaughter?

Who will feel Leanne's wrath tonight?

Will Frankie cry at the banishment?

Not long until we find out!

Oh god it’s so good! I must admit I was getting worried that this series would be dull in comparison to last year’s tour de force, but my goodness they’ve turned it round.

That said, producers please put more effort into the tasks next year!

I'd love Alexander, Frankie and Jake to win!

They’re my top three as well.

Although Leanne fid go up a notch or two, as she is thinking strategically (army training?), although she just gets stroppy . Charlotte has priced herself more strategic as a traitor, and has grown into the role, but just hasn’t got a poker face ,why gas no one noticed this!!).

Waffle19 · 23/01/2025 22:52

I’m meant to be going out tomorrow night and thought I could wait until Saturday to catch up but I really think I’m going to have to cancel my plans

placemats · 23/01/2025 22:52

Fordian · 23/01/2025 22:33

@Placemats- I think Charlotte has just been lucky!

She was lucky Minah chose her.

You have a toothache and can't possibly go out!

Leanne does get stroppy - she's a bit of a whine. I just can't like her much.

I agree, Charlotte's eyes give it away! After she was chosen by Frankie and Claud collects her, Charlotte's eyes are obviously full of panic.

PlumpHobbit · 23/01/2025 22:54

If I'm the seer I'd ask one of the under the radar players. That way I can completely rule them out, and team up with them, to then try and banish the others and agree to share. Some of the names are coming up are probably getting banished anyway so that's a greater share of the prize money

Leave you and your potentially new ally in, get it down to you, them and the traitor, then banish the traitor

Other case scenario is you find out an under the radar is a traitor and don't risk a Harry and Molly situation

LovingLivingLife · 23/01/2025 22:54

This seer thing has really ruined it for me. How unfair that the traitor has to reveal their identity. What's the point in the final, obviously the faithful will win now.

FridayNight1975 · 23/01/2025 22:54

if francesca tells them charlotte is a traitor and they believe her, they cannot think alexander is one too.

that would mean there have been 6 traitors,
which is unprecedented in the UK.

there have been probably as many in a version many of us here have seen, don’t want to spoil for others, but because they kept banishing traitors from the beginning and throughout.

it should be jake, alexander and leanne at the end.

the seer is good on paper but a curse for both involved.

Clafoutie · 23/01/2025 22:55

Snowmanscarf · 23/01/2025 21:58

Yes, Leanne’s working it out!

I feel like she’s not so much working it out as continuing to be very easily influenced by other people’s round table comments, grabbing on to them in a sort of desperate but not particularly considered way, as she has done throughout. At least, that is how she comes across 😀
Of course, that sort of accidental ‘strategy’ can still lead to you accidentally winning!

witchycat2 · 23/01/2025 22:55

I'll reserve judgement on the seer twist until after tomorrow's episode. It will be interesting to see how it plays out

I’m working tomorrow night 😩Will have to not look at my phone until after I’ve watched the final when I get in.

This is clearly what Alexander was trying to engineer.

PlumpHobbit · 23/01/2025 23:01

I think they should have kept the seer secret at this stage, because now Frankie can tell the others and its an easy banishment whereas if she had to work to convince them without them knowing she was the seer it may be a help or hindrance

Definitely the right pick though, you either gain an ally or rule out a Harry and Molly situation

I think they'll banish Alexander still 😭 as they suspect him so won't want to risk leaving him in

So we will get a Jake and Frankie win. Possibly Leanne or they may just want to rule her out

Or will Charlotte be allowed a final recruitment, whereby she could choose Frankie? And possibly try and convince her to lie she is a faithful and agree to split the money and both win together?

I don't think there will be a final recruitment this late. And Frankie would be dumb to accept if there was

On unclaimed Freddie said they are more likely to vote Frankie out than Charlotte. I think Charlotte will try her best to persuade Leanne that Frankie is a traitor, or that she is faithful so if Frankie implies otherwise then why would Frankie do that? Unless Frankie is herself a traitor. Charlotte might also go along with/ push for Alexander to go. I think both Leanne and Jake would favour Charlotte above Alexander so it’s not over for Charlotte yet. Also Alexander and Frankie are more likely to stick together so Charlotte will try and get one if them out. If Frankie goes then she might dither about calling for another banishment. If Alexander goes first then she will have to get Frankie out.
It reminds me of when the company you work for promotes the wrong person, then you watch as that person screws over the company, knowing you knew all along they had made a monumental cock up.
Dh read an article from former contestants, might have been Harry, and he said that they producers don’t tell them what to say. What you hear is real. It’s just edited down because they spend so much time together and talk about who they think is a traitor so much that they can only show snippets if it. Of course they show the relevant bits so if say Leanne is about to be banished they focus on people talking about Leanne.

APushbikeNamedReluctance · 23/01/2025 23:05

I see dreadful Wilf is still pretending he's glad he lost despite being desperate to win up to the point he lost.

I think tomorrow will consist of Frankie crying and Charlotte increasing morphing into Leanne style defensiveness in front of the others and giving out about Freddie double crossing her.

I get the feeling Alexander has pretty much given up trying to defend himself. He knows he's no chance of winning- too much going against him. At one point I thought he'd cottoned on to Charlotte and was vaguely hopeful Freddie would run with it. But it seem Alexander is as clueless as the rest.

Leanne might prevent Charlotte from convincing the others Frankie is lying seeing she appears to be the only one who is wondering why Freddie voted for Charlotte.

HarlanPepper · 23/01/2025 23:06

I think Charlotte is more than capable of turning it around so it looks like Frankie is a traitor and is lying about her. She already planted that seed before she was chosen. She's been excellently devious so far.

CaveMum · 23/01/2025 23:07

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 23/01/2025 23:00

I can’t get the bonus podcast - what was the story?

It’s on BBC Sounds.

Ed Gamble asked the previous contestants if they had any funny stories from being recognised and Diane told a story about going for a mammogram with all the usual awkwardness only for the nurse to say afterwards, as she was putting her clothes back on “I really wanted your son to win!”

She has a hard job on her hands. But she may take Frankie down with her

CaveMum · 23/01/2025 23:08

A simple thing for the remaining contestants to do is just vote both Charlotte and Frankie out on the basis that one of them is lying. That way they’re guaranteed to get a Traitor.
