What do you watch on tv with your 10year olds (year 5)?

We've been watching Ghosts together, and it was perfect because it was a little bit daft, and funny, but also a little bit rude so he felt like he was watching something a bit grown up. It was lovely having something we could both enjoy.

Now that's finished, what other things could we try? Some other hits:

We are trying to find things too, added complication that our 10 year old is a real scaredy cat and didn't like ep 1 of Ghosts! We've enjoyed All Creatures Great and Small, Malory Towers, Famous Five, she's absolutely and utterly obsessed with the Traitors, we're about to watch Series 2 but giving it a few days gap before launching in. We all are huge Gladiators fans. She likes things like the Wheel and Masked Singer as well. I'll try a few of the suggestions here.

We tried the Vicar of Dibley but she didn't quite get it so we left it for a bit.

I think I watched stuff as a kid that I wouldn't let her watch now because I have fond memories of watching things like MAS*H with my Dad at her age but I watched a few last year and found them way, way too old for her. It was the 80s!

Malcolm in the Middle on Disney+. DD loves watching something I liked when I was younger and I am throughly enjoying a rewatch. It hits differently now I’m watching it as a parent!

We also enjoy ‘Is it Cake?’ on Netflix.

We're both now hooked on Beast Games, on Prime... it's not something I'd watch on my own but watching with him is brilliant! Thoroughly recommend.

Another vote for Young Sheldon. Just started watching and my 10 year old is hooked. Also loves The 1% Club.
