New thread for Episode 9!

And now (no expense spared)... here are ScruffMuffin's very unofficial Traitors Bingo Cards. No expense spared! Feel free to pick a colour (white, blue, pink, green or yellow) and play along tonight. We'll be playing here! Of course, you could use the excellent chart already supplied by another poster on the previous thread instead.

HOUSE RULES
If you hear something very similar to, but not identical to, the words on your chosen card, the other people in the room get to decide if it's close enough. If you're watching on your own, mark as you see fit.

Have fun!

Yes, it does seem like an unfair advantage really because you have been able to fix yourself in people’s mind as a faithful. I guess this isn’t always the case, but certainly seems to be working for Charlotte now, and they don’t seem able to consider who might have been recruited. Also, it must be exhausting being a traitor from the start and so possibly harder to sustain.

This group of Faithfuls really don’t seem to realise recruitment is a possibility -it’s so rarely mentioned. Don’t know if it’s just the edit,

PlumpHobbit · 17/01/2025 23:52

If I'd done that challenge they wouldn't have needed to murder me the challenge would have done it for them, all that running, and up a hill

Only from watching SAS who dares wins but am I right in thinking Leanne carried her head in a very military way?

Glad it wasn't just my dirty mind thinking the shape of the "torsos" was erm... dodgy!

YesYesKitten · 17/01/2025 23:55

Frankie had a strop that Leon spoke of her to Leanne, but the whole game is everyone talking about each other so why was Leon held to a higher standard of account?

Frankie also came across as fragile about whatshisname lying about gunking her.

Surely with 4 sons she's dealt with worse in life.

JaneAustensHeroine · 18/01/2025 00:01

At least Alexander comes out of this show positively - as a nice and decent person. Alex does too. And Frankie.

Leanne, Jake, Joe… not so much. Everything Leanne utters is all about her. Completely self-centred and self-absorbed.

I think maybe the game is getting to her. I do wonder sometimes about damage done by such a fraught psychological and emotional environment. I imagine that if you are in any way a sensitive ( i.e. nice) person this could get too much, and also just the sheer exhaustion of it all. I see they do have a psychotherapist on the show. I think it was good they had the dinner party even though it was the last thing they felt like. It seemed like someone was going to melt down otherwise.

I said to DH after Ep2 that I thought Freddie bore more than a passing resemblance to Harry. Now that would be a plot twist…

He really reminds me of Miles from Made in Chelsea!

Yes, Alex, Alexander, Freddie, Frankie, Linda, Lisa and Minah all seem like fundamentally nice people. Fosia probably was too - I loved it when she called them out on being too personal over Kas! I really liked Dan, although he probably wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. He understands it’s a game though and was upfront about how he was playing it.

No real opinion on Anna or Leon. Anna got on my nerves a little when she kept going on about being targeted. Leon acting like he’s the only man in the world to have a family was tiresome too. I did like him saying he wanted a shed, and he was probably ok deep down.

Not a fan of Charlotte as a traitor - but I wonder if that’s because I feel protective over Minah as I like her?! (Being hypocritical as like I said about Dan, it is just a game!).

Maia was a bore and I found Armani incredibly irritating too. Livi was unimpressive.

Joe and Leanne are hideous.

Tallyrand · 18/01/2025 00:21

Getting a bit sick or people asking "why am I still here".

Because the Traitors can only murder 1 person a night, most likely. And the faithfuls have only managed to catch 2/4 Traitors out of 25 contestants so far, the rest of the time they are banishing faithfuls.

Joe must be the worst faithful to ever play the game. I'm amazed they're still listening to him.

Clafoutie · 18/01/2025 00:23

Isn’t it weird now to think of Yin?! It is getting to that point where the early departures seem like they happened in a different series altogether!

JaneAustensHeroine · 18/01/2025 00:32

Alexander and Leanne are complete opposites. Alexander is essentially a team player. Leanne is most definitely not. When they discussed the money, it was very clear whose thoughts immediately go to what they could do for others and who is focused on their own ends.

I would go so far to say that I don’t think Leanne’s ‘career’ in the army was for long at all. She doesn’t feel at all authentic (and, besides, why not tell people the truth about her career?)…

How embarrassing to go on a show like this and come out looking self-absorbed. 🙄

Yet again I'm plopping my fat arse down to placemark while I catch up.

Does anyone here play Blood on the Clocktower? It's a social deduction game (with the imp+minions Vs villagers Vs townsfolk). It's like Traitors but way more advanced and everyone has a different power/role.

I'd love to see some ideas from Blood on the Clocktower implemented in the show!

I just looked this up and I really want to play it now, but

(a) it’s really expensive, and
(b) most of my friends are also dumbasses and we’d never figure out the rules

Mermaidrone · 18/01/2025 01:22

Playing an absolute blinder

TheBluntTurtle · 17/01/2025 23:07

what I don’t get is why wasn’t Lisa’s murder brought up at the round table and the fact that she was in the castle group with no shields, so perhaps the traitor might not have known who had the shield. So who knew who had the shield?
I know a traitor in the woods could have still killed a faithful in the castle, especially to do a double bluff, but I’m amazed it didn’t come up at all. It is a fact that the faithful that was killed wasn’t in the group with the shields and 100% couldn’t have had a shield whereas the woods group any faithful could have had one - I don’t think there has been a 50/ 50 split this series where half the group could go for a shield and another half couldn’t at all.

alexander has survived another day!! He really should have been given the shield - he worked so hard in that task and didn’t act selfishly.

It’s normal for people to hide they have the shield, even amongst their own group like it was hidden from Alexander. If, for example, Frankie was a traitor she wouldn’t have murdered from the woods group because that would have suggested she knew who had the shield. It’s safer for the traitors to murder from the castle group regardless of which group they were in.

Frankie is spoken about highly here but she’s cried unnecessarily at Alex and Leon’s banishments and has voted really weirdly. She seems a nice person but she isn’t a good faithful.

I don’t think this is fair. I’m not a fan of Leanne but most people spoke about how they would use the money for themselves. That’s fine. Why not?

Her career ended in the army in October 2024. It was 12 years she’d been in the army. I think she chose to hide it because the traitor who won last year was in the army. That’s pretty reasonable.

It’s ok to dislike her but there’s no reason to make out like she’s the only player who wanted money for herself or to try and say she was lying about her career. She wasn’t.

Wow Lisa looks amazing x

I wonder if she wore the glasses as a prop - to make herself look older and more ‘bumbling’.

NetZeroZealot · 17/01/2025 22:42

i only started watching last year. Have the faithfuls ever won or is it always a traitor (s)?

Yes, they have won.

WinterCosiness · 18/01/2025 05:15

Caught up. I'm longing for Alexander to win as a faithful! Though I think a faithful would have to win with at least one more faithful, and all my other favourite faithfuls have long gone. I'm in a minority of quite liking Jake. I don't get the dislike of him on here.
But, I now think a Charlotte traitor victory is the most likely outcome.
I was never a Minah fan, but actually do really feel sorry for her now for obvious reasons. Charlotte is proving to be a phenomenal traitor. But she's just too ruthless for comfort!
Hey ho, it's just a game I know...

Minesril · 18/01/2025 06:17

I want Minah and Alexander to win...

Minah needs to get rid of Charlotte and recruit Alexander instead. I bet he'd share the money!

I’d love this to happen. I think Minah’s on to sneaky Charlotte and has lulled her into a false sense of security.

Do you? I don't. I think the trust she expressed was genuine. To be fair, there's been more suspicion surrounding Minah anyhow, regardless of Charlotte. So, I actually think Minah might not have made it to the end regardless.
Of course, everything could change next week. The only one I'm really rooting for is Alexander. I feel he also kind of represents Kas, and carries that mantle of lovely, slightly persecuted, gentleman!

PuppyMonkey · 18/01/2025 07:28

We also like Jake in our house, I don’t think he’s a knob in the same league as Joe and Leanne. Was a surprise to hear him talking about having cerebral palsy too, sounds like he’s had it quite tough in life.

Yes i quite like Jake also - definitely don't think he deserves to be dumped into the same group as Joe and Leanne (to be fair i don't think Leanne was as bad in the last episode and fair play to her putting the shift in in the task! i'm surprised no one commented on what a badass she was!). But i think he was been murdered as is the only obvious "traitor hunter" out of the 3 mentioned

Weds seems so far away!
