Crack on

OP posts:
JadeSeahorse · 16/01/2025 20:45

Far out bonkers idea here but I'm assuming Ruby was able to do the DNA test from either hair samples from brushes/combs or toothbrushes. Wouldn't it be great if Anthony starts packing to leave and it is discovered Ruby has taken the sample from HIS belongings and not Caleb's?

Well I can live in hope! 😁 🤞

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 16/01/2025 21:05

I think Rob was understanding as I think he knew or had an idea of what happened to Ruby.

Steph really is vile. What's her problem with her Mum? It makes no sense how she is so vile to Ruby but worships Caleb. Can Nicky come back please?!

Chas for once was really good.

PrincessScarlett · 16/01/2025 21:16

Spoilers in the advert breaks for those that want to avoid.

RaraRachael · 16/01/2025 21:38

He's vile but I have to admit the Anthony actor is doing a great job. He smarms about with the right mix of helpfulness - a proper wolf in sheep's clothing.

The disgusting old bastard.

PrincessScarlett · 16/01/2025 21:43

Yes agree Anthony actor has done a brilliant job. I feel sick every time he's on the screen. When he was eyeing up Ruby passed out on the bed 🤮

RaraRachael · 16/01/2025 22:03

I actually turned away af that point.
I thought "Oh no surely not"

Beth Cordingly has been amazing. This story has lasted a decent duration - not dragged out as is usual. I always think they lose their effect when that happens.

Is it next week we have the cliffhanger episodes?

Oioisavaloy27 · 16/01/2025 22:50

I just caught up, Ruby is a fantastic actress so is the old perv, harrowing storyline the same as the Tom storyline, these hard hitting storylines are good to share the message that woman need to speak out.

2025willbemytime · 16/01/2025 22:58

...or more that men need to behave.

strugglingwithlife · 17/01/2025 08:29

Agree, Steph is a nasty bitch. And I felt sick watching as well. And Caleb is so clueless, Chas was able to work it out instantly yet Caleb hasn't once cottoned on to Ruby's anxiety every time her disgusting creepy dad is around

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 17/01/2025 08:32

Anthony is a fantastic actor. I know what he's doing/done is abhorrent but he's such a good character.

Jojoanna · 17/01/2025 08:58

Really good acting by the actors who play Ruby and Anthony.

RaraRachael · 17/01/2025 10:21

Neither Steph nor Caleb took any notice of Ruby's discomfort when Anthony reappeared although it was obvious she had a serious issue with him.
I'd like to think if I showed that level of discomfort, my family members would be more supportive of me and not just immediately pooh-pooh my concerns and stick up for the other person.

MonickerMonica · 17/01/2025 10:59

Anthony has said he's terminally ill with cancer. Steph hasn't shown any interest in his hospital visits I.e. offering to accompany him etc. If she loves her 'grandad' then it would be natural for her to see evidence of his treatment/medication but none of that is happening. I agree the actor is doing a great job. I wasn't aware of him before Emmerdale so am going to look him up to see his other roles. 🙄

Probably because he is lying.

RaraRachael · 17/01/2025 11:07

I don't believe for a moment that Anthony is ill. Just a ruse to get sympathy and deflect things away for the real issue. There's still a bit of a mystery about his bandaged hand - was there ever any evidence about what happened?

Middlemarch123 · 17/01/2025 11:12

Rhona is a vet, however you think that she would know medical basics: you don’t tell someone to go and lie down in bed with a chest infection, advice is always to prop up on pillows. Agree with PP who said she should have spotted how poorly he was.

Beth Cordingly deserves an award for her harrowing portrayal of Ruby. Anthony actor amazing too. I had to turn away when he was watching her sleeping. Caleb actor stepped up. Really looking forward to next week. Unlike the Belle and Tom storyline which dragged on way too long, this has been shorter so much more effective.

The mediocre actors are looking very poor in comparison.

MonickerMonica · 17/01/2025 11:20

Oioisavaloy27 · 17/01/2025 11:02

Probably because he is lying.

Oh yes of course he's lying but nothing in the script showing Steph's concern and his excuses to her for doing the hospital stuff by himself 🫤

PrincessScarlett · 17/01/2025 11:38

I find it so heartbreaking that even though Steph is being a complete bitch to Ruby, she is still protecting her from the awful truth despite the anguish she's in. Ruby has been protecting Steph for years and years at the cost of her relationship with her. Terribly terribly sad and Beth has been outstanding at portraying all of that fear, anguish, hate and devastation.

I really disliked Ruby when she first turned up but she's a firm favourite now.

strugglingwithlife · 17/01/2025 13:39

Just watching tonight's. So pleased Caleb finally knows the truth. In tears. My heart breaks for Ruby

strugglingwithlife · 17/01/2025 13:42

And I agree, I didn't like Ruby at all when she first came into the show but she's a favourite now and she deserves awards for this

ilovebrie8 · 17/01/2025 14:31

well what a good episode so well done and agree with others Ruby and her dad actors have played their parts amazingly well!

next week looks good too from those flash forwards
Rhona and Marlon are a pair of drips they are bringing nothing …why are they not being culled ??

The whole April saga isn’t interesting whatsoever …

RaraRachael · 17/01/2025 14:43

I wonder how many of the actors who are leaving chose to go. I know it wasn't Amelia's choice. There is so much dead wood at the moment.

It’s the same in Corrie. I won’t say who on here but I’m surprised at some of the names

ilovebrie8 · 17/01/2025 15:43

I don’t think Will wanted to leave and he was axed ! Amelia didn’t want to go she was sacked.

Victoria should be chopped she’s never on it and again adds nothing of interest …

I agree totally boring but I think Anthony has her and is abusing her.
