Anyone else watching this? I watched episodes 1 and 2 and am unsure if I should continue (new episode each week). I love the female lead (Arch) and the working dynamic between her and Fitz, but the crime plots themselves feel too rushed / not well built up. Each episode (only 45 min) solves one crime, so there isn't enough build-up and we don't get to know the suspects well enough. The episodes are linked by running mystery threads though (Gallagher/Villeneuve, the lead duo's past secrets, etc.).

I do enjoy the bilingual dialogue very much (though episode 2 had much less French than episode 1). I recently watched The Tunnel which was also bilingual, and similarly The Missing. I like the smaller scale of Saint-Pierre's location because it has the eeriness of a cosy, picturesque community rocked by big crimes. I just wish the episodes were twice as long, like Midsomer Murders!

Saint-Pierre | Season 1 | CBC Gem

Exiled to Saint-Pierre, Newfoundland Inspector Fitzpatrick (Fitz) is partnered with headstrong Deputy Chief Archambault (Arch) to solve unique crimes that bely the French island's idyllic façade.

Are you in the UK? What platform is it available on?

I'm watching with a VPN. It has only aired in Canada on CBC so far.
