I think one person could swap one card. Then it's over.

It would still be 50:50, no matter who it was.

@JudgeJ the producers wouldn't let that happen.

I suspect if the person Minah tried to recruit refuses they’d just be murdered and Minah would have to choose someone else.

@outofofficeagain there doesn't seem any point in game play with two players though as they'll both know who has the life card. Surely they'll have to change things a bit, eg allowing them to shuffle their two cards so it's not obvious where the life card is

I'm expecting the traitors to approach and choose who they want to recruit and the other is immediately murdered. No shuffle required.

Sorry if this has already been said, never seen this programme before and ds and I have binged the whole of series 3 so far today and are very excited 😂
we think there will be 2 cards put on the table by masked traitors, the faithfuls will just have to draw cards, maybe face down and decide if they want to swap or not and then whoever survives drives off and then the one who is left will be ‘killed off’ by the traitors who will then reveal themselves.

Someone from Traitors NZ said it's basically that. They have to inform production team who they're voting for and that determines the announcing order. Staged for maximum tension and drama!

Also from another season (won't say which to avoid spoiler), if Traitors down to 1 because they didn't recruit whilst still at 2, Blackmail occurs where a Faithful has the choice to become a Traitor or be murdered, as selected by the remaining Traitor.

UK series 2 last year was the best so far in my opinion. So, even if you know the winner, it's still worth watching for the twists and turns. It's a 1000 times better than this year.
They seemed like a lovely bunch of faithfuls too 😊

Back to the idea of handwriting, the thing that jumped out at me from the invitation to Anna was that they had spelled independent as "independant" (I think - that was slightly less clear) and most definitely written "women" instead of "woman". As a spelling nerd that smacked me in the face and if I'd received it I would definitely have been using that as a clue - starting conversations about strengths and weaknesses from schooldays or trying to find opportunities to get people to write things down and observe spelling/handwriting etc. It astonishes me that they have so little to go on and yet they don't use the clues they have. They were lucky to get away with that if Anna didn't spot it or chose not to make anything of it, and also foolish to not have disguised handwriting and triple checked accuracy to male sure they weren't giving anything away. You can bet if Alexander received a note with inaccuracies he'd be taking that information all the way to the bank!

There is a Canadian one out - 2 series, but my God its bad! We are blessed with Claudia IMO.

I don't think they have access to any writing implements while in the castle. If I had all that time to kill with no access to the internet or books of my choice, I'd want paper and pencil so I could at least do a sudoku puzzle or similar, but you don't see anybody doing anything like that. You never see them doing anything other than talk, eat or drink, or play billiards. Obviously it's all in the edit. Very early on in this series someone said in amazement about someone else that they were obviously clever, they'd read some of the books in the library. Do they have board or card games, or jigsaws? You can learn a lot about someone from doing something like that together.

My point being, the only time they ever see the others' handwriting is at the Round Table or on a Traitors' letter (and now on the picture, if it's still there the next day, as I imagine it will be).

PS The spelling point is very well made. The only thing is, do people get to keep the letters they receive from the Traitors if they stay in the game? If Anna saw it once and then had to hand it in, all our speculation about what she could deduce from it and share with the others is likely a waste of time.

Just caught up on the thread. Does anyone else think Anna saw fozia's cards in the first round? She volunteered to go first pretty quickly and then immediately picked the correct card. She was sitting right next to fozia and fozia was angling her cards that way a bit

With Alexander's demeanour, I wondered if the producers had asked them to act nervous and he'd just really hammed it up? Also Leon's lack of poker face when fozia took the life card off him. I wondered if he wanted Alexander to take it off fozia as for whatever reason he preferred Alexander to win over fozia? So made it obvious she'd taken the card.

I think Alexander was either extremely nervous or freezing. I think it was the latter as one of the other players was also shaking at one point.
Regarding handwriting- Anna will not have been able to keep the letter and quite frankly, I doubt she will know what the correct spelling of independent is.

Ah right, ok. I suppose there seems to be so little screen time with Alex, I didn’t take too much notice of him!

Re the spelling ... as a beleaguered English teacher, I can confidently tell you we might as well officially change the spelling of both independent and woman/men because no one seems to ever get it right these days...the latter confusion really bewilders me! I blame the patriarchy

Presumably they'd all assume a traitor would disguise their handwriting and perhaps make intentjonal spelling errors anyway

Not seen the Canadian one. Seen the Oz and NZ ones. Loved the NZ offering. Less keen on the Oz ones.

I love Claudia. The other hosts are terrible. DH can't understand this and keeps asking why she can't get her hair out of her face.🙄
She had a rare fashion misstep with that beige jumper covered with roses though.

Anna might have seen a reflection of the life card in Fozia's glasses. Mostly Fozia was holding them to the side to avoid them reflecting but the life card was bright so even a one second reflection would have let her know which card to pick.

I too thought Leon was trying to let Alex know he had lost the life card to Fozia by being so expressive. Perhaps he was annoyed that Fozia let Anna keep the life card in the first round so didn't want to let her have it in the second round. Because if Fozia had taken it back from Anna, Alex would have twigged she too back the same card and taken it from her. And then Leon would have been able to take it from him. Fozia realised that would likely happen and she wouldn't be able to keep the life card so decided to let Anna keep it rather than let Leon have it.

But they see each other's writing on the boards when they vote. Which makes me suspect participants disguise their handwriting - and there are often some interesting spellings of others' names too.

They've probably never seen the others' names written down before they first have to write them down at the Round Table. They're probably doing it phonetically and some of them may be dyslexic or just not very good at spelling.
