Apologies if this has already been discussed. I find it interesting how the voting around the round table is always so even for the first half of the table. There are always 2-3 people on an equal number of votes. Then the second half of the table confirms who’s going.

Do you think the producers ask them who they are voting for then seat them accordingly?

Definitely! It’s staged to maintain suspense.

We were discussing this yesterday. I think they film the reveal but then work out where the 'tense' point is. Then go back and film Claudia saying who she's starting with, and film the mid-point vote counts.

WoolyMammoth55 · 11/01/2025 19:17

Guys, surely they can't recruit whoever wins the card game - because 3 other faithfuls who didn't die would know that person was meant to be murdered?

Or am I missing something? (Might not have RTFT in all honesty :) but very confused by this idea!)

Sorry completely missed that this was discussed. Thanks for filling me in!

Only if the other contestant is murdered. The two other players will assume that the losing player was murdered and the winner returns.

It doesn't matter if they are a traitor or not.

The one who wins is recruited and the one who loses is murdered so it could work. Whether that is what they’re going to do I don’t know.

It would be interesting if the “murdering face to face” is the two unmasked traitors and the two finalists in the card game. They need to decide between the four of them who joins the traitors and who gets murdered. The faithful could make a “pitch” for their choice, knowing who the traitors are, and the traitors could try to persuade their preferred candidate to join them. It could be very interesting.

I think Minah and Alexander would be an excellent traitor pair. Throw Linda under the bus and remind everyone about the “all female traitors” idea to throw scent off Alexander. I reckon between them they could get another couple of faithful banished too. (If I were them I’d go for “Fozia pointing to Linda was traitor-on-traitor because Fozia was recruited late and realised what a liability Linda was”).

Then the two of them fight it out in the final.

No the voting is done then edited. Claudia’s voice is then dubbed on after. You never actually see her giving the numbers. So the order we see on tv has no relationship to the actual voting order. It happens every series They reveal the votes in an order that makes it seem as though there was a cliff hanger.

Good point, they would have to murder one and recruit one. The others will assume that the survivor had the life card.

BBC Iplayer the first one is brilliant

The first Australian one was sooooooooooo good. Excellent gameplay!!!

That also occurred to me. In the event, she didn't get gunked at all, which makes me wonder if there was some subconcious bias at play there? Such considerations didn't help Minah with her culturally sensitive hair type, though - at the round table and in the evening it looked less coiffed and glossy than usual, so I'm sure the ire she directed at the gunkers was completely genuine! I had also assumed that all these challenges are tested and rehearsed beforehand, in which case it's odd that the risk of the gunk getting in the contestants' eyes was not spotted earlier.

I don't think getting gunk on a headscarf would be a problem, it's just fabric covering her hair.

If her hair would become exposed, I imagine Fozia would not consent to that happening.

Some of the women’s clothes have been out of Eleven’s wardrobe from Stranger Things Season 3 (Starcourt Mall). Anna and Charlotte, and Francesca like the Wheeler ladies.

No. Because they always sit in the same place. They do change where they start from though.

dapsnotplimsolls · 11/01/2025 20:44

I've just started watching the first Australian one, I've tried to swerve any comments on here. They're so upfront about the game-playing - even discussing strategy at the round table!

QueenOfThorns · 11/01/2025 20:46

I assumed that they all write the names on the little boards and then have to leave the room. The producers look at all the votes and then decide where to start the reveal from to create the most tension. Then the contestants come back and they start filming again. But that’s based on nothing but my imagination!

But we know they do it in that circle -they can't hide who sits next to who? So person x must come after person y if sat next to them.

But yes they can start anywhere in the circle when they show us.

lolly792 · 11/01/2025 22:22

It's probably been answered earlier in the thread, but what happens with the card game now they're down to two players? It's going to be obvious straight away who has the life card? Will they change the game play? Shuffling the player's two cards before each pick ?

Rictasmorticia · 11/01/2025 22:26

I think the life card holder will be recruited and the other murdered

lolly792 · 11/01/2025 22:37

So there won't be any actual play? The cards will just be dealt and then the one with 2 death cards gets the chop?

JudgeJ · 11/01/2025 22:42

Choux · 11/01/2025 11:45

If there is anyone who suspects Minah but is saying nothing I would love it if the day after Linda's banishment they took Minah aside and said. "I think you are a traitor because of X and Y. I haven't brought it up at the round table but I want you to recruit me."

Obviously if Minah was actually faithful she would tell everyone and the person would likely be banished. But if Minah thinks the person would be a good traitor and the person wants to be a traitor then everyone is happy...

If Linda is banished, the person Minah then tries to recruit declines the offer, then Minah is banished next day, what would happen then?
