Some of the NZ players are NZ celebrities too. That's why they know each other.

Yes, true, they’re not reality stars though as I recall, their things like DJs, which to my mind makes them slightly less annoying

The amount in the prize pot is rarely mentioned by Claudia, doesn't flash up on screen much and the challenges seem designed that it's impossible to get the full money available.

Let's not forget that the money is always won whether it's faithfuls or traitors who win it. So it's in the production company's interest to have the players focus on each other and immunity rather than building up the pot. It ramps up the drama and saves them £50k in prize money.

Don't they normally have a final task that enables them to win everything they lost, so it generally always ends up around the same amount?

Procrastination4 isn't the fact that there are fertility issues in the marriage an indicator that Alex was born biologically female?

But how could they contemplate IVF if he were female? He talks about it only in the context of IVF between him and his wife, not using donor sperm.

I’m new to the Traitors this year - not sure quite how as I bloody love it. Think I was put off by the hype previously - but now I can see it deserves it. Am gonna binge watch a previous series - but sadly not season two UK as I know who won from the media. Any recommendations which one to go for? Sounds like the Australian ones were good?

I think it's still worth watching season 2 for the way the traitors operated, and for gems like the Diane/Ross relationship.

I haven't been on the thread since the early hours but has anyone had any further thoughts on why they showed all that fuss about who marked who in the gunk game and why it was SUCH a problem for Francesca that Dan lied? That side story came up and whoosh! Dan was gone. I find it very suspect.

Why? We know neither of them is a traitor.

Phthia · 11/01/2025 17:38

I'm puzzled about how the murdering face to face thing is going to work, unless it is to happen immediately after the card game. If it's going to be one of those murders done in the open by giving someone a drink or similar? If so it would be incredibly difficult as everyone would be on the alert - unless the game players were categorically forbidden from mentioning anything to anyone and the victim is forbidden from taking protective steps like never being on their own.

It wouldn't really have been appropriate for any of them to start spelling out the anatomical details of the fertility treatment they want to spend the money on.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/01/2025 17:41

I'm guessing that if both Fozia and Leon are there when the murder takes place the traitors would have to be masked and not speak. Quite intrigued! But Fozia and Leon can't play the game the way they did when they had Alexander and Anna there. Maybe they will have to draw a card until one of them picks the life card?

tailinthejam · 11/01/2025 17:42

YesYesKitten · 10/01/2025 23:54

Ed looks like he reads from the autocue/ cards in his hands a lot - his delivery isn't natural.

It is, broadly speaking, a podcast, hence the giant microphones on set. A tv presenter would usually just be using an autocue by the camera, but perhaps they don't do that for this programme. It is semi-scripted, but only up to a point as it is live.

outofofficeagain · 11/01/2025 17:44

There would have to be just one card swap.

It doesn't matter who picks, there is a 50:50 chance of selecting or keeping the card.

Or there is no final round, and one has to be recruited and one murdered.

beautyandTVisgoodenoughforme · 11/01/2025 17:55

Thank you to PP who shared The Times article about how they edit the show and create the narrative for each episode. https://archive.ph/wVnX6 “Why we love watching The Traitors (it’s thanks to Agatha Christie)”
“The reality show is edited backwards to give viewers the warm feeling of being in control”

That will be why they make Joe and Tyler seem so awful. It was very satisfying to see Tyler and Livi out and I am anticipating a big exit for Joe. I do think it’s a shame viewers - or at least those commenting across SM - forget it’s a highly edited game show too.

I read this thread after the episodes and it’s interesting to me as the roundtable. Fascinating how people perceive things differently. For me, Linda hasn’t taken against Fozia, she’s trying to deflect from Fozia’s pointing finger and be a Traitor, so I don’t think Linda is doing nothing either. The only time I can think Fozia could be described as sneering is when Lina has been accusing her and I saw that as Fozia rolling her eyes because it’s so obvious Linda is only doing that because Fozia accused her.

S1 and S2 are great stories and it’s only the last week of episodes where you realise the journey they’re taking us on. I’m not sure where they’ll take us with S3!

Samcro · 11/01/2025 17:56

I like Alex and don’t think it matters.
his gender or sexuality makes no difference. It’s only matters if he is good to watch.
at least I know who he is unlike jake/Jo/Dan lol

witchycat2 · 11/01/2025 18:15

I think the truth about Alex is quite obvious but for whatever reason he doesn't want to say anymore than he has so I don't think we need / should speculate too much.

If Alex is transgender, then I admire him for it. Usually they’re loud and proud, and it’s nice to have someone not make it his defining character.

Yes, I agree with this. Unfortunately I don’t like to look at ears with massive holes through them, though, it makes me feel queasy Sad

I think Minah is great at being under the radar and I would like her to win but the decision making on who to seduce - Anna - wasn't very good. She needs better traitors to work with to think through their strategy.

I do wonder how it would have gone had Linda been banished before / instead of Armani

witchycat2 · 11/01/2025 18:27

Minah should have gone for Leanne rather than Anna

OP posts:
JaneAustensHeroine · 11/01/2025 18:37

Ultimately we only see an edited snapshot; the worst and most hopeless moments for everyone. Minah has been portrayed as the Traitor in control and Linda as the laissez-faire type. Linda comes across as much less competitive than others: “let them vote me out” and isn’t necessarily going to be looking for a social media career out of this in the same way as most of the others.

The card game could end with both of them coming face to face with the Traitors (masked and hooded)…both to be given a scroll - one could be a forced recruitment scroll, one the murder scroll. No idea though!

Perhaps you only notice the loud and proud ones simply because they are loud, and all the rest just get on with their day like everyone else.

TitsInAbsentia · 11/01/2025 18:44

😂
The preview crops the text a bit so it says:

"Linda turns up at breakfast in her Traitors cloak"

The Faithfuls: "Something suspicious happening here...I think it's Freddie!"

See I'm against the majority and not finding Linda funny, I want people to survive through skill so it's just annoying me she's somehow managing to despite being so ott
And I actually thought she'd make a good Traitor (older woman who likely wouldn't be suspected)

Isn’t this imitating real life though? People don’t get on because they are intelligent, or hard working, or skilful. They get on for a just if other reasons. Being on the right side is often one of them.

dapsnotplimsolls · 11/01/2025 18:54

Unless she's been playing us all for fools and over-acted deliberately 😂

Edited

True, but those on tv shows usually are loud and proud.

jumpintheline · 11/01/2025 19:10

Apologies if this has already been discussed. I find it interesting how the voting around the round table is always so even for the first half of the table. There are always 2-3 people on an equal number of votes. Then the second half of the table confirms who’s going.

Do you think the producers ask them who they are voting for then seat them accordingly?
