Saving £50k in prize pot money would cover Claudia’s wardrobe budget. The hideous beige with roses on jumper she wore on Thursday I think was £1.5k!

but i think the motivation for more emphasis on shields rather than prize pot is the producers trying to create more conflict which I think is a mistake as I much prefer team work during day and keep arguments for the round table.
I also think the producers in their desire to pick contestants that are not too wise to the game (fair enough) have chosen too many slightly daft ones. Maybe they didn’t want another Paul and Harry dynamic again but it is good TV to see a bit of game play and strategic thinking going on rather than tears and upset. Shame Yin got booted out. She would have been great for this whilst likely being completely wrong

She won't pay for any of the clothes. Designers will be queuing up to lend her stuff. That's worth a fortune in prime time advertising for them.

ChoccyJules · 11/01/2025 11:54

I agree that the Mission was a mess. Sometimes Claudia revealed who had done the gunking (eg Lisa) but other times they were allowed to lie and let that stand. Couldn’t follow it and usually I can cope with understanding things at the same level as a gen Z who says ‘click’ (interestingly I got an email today from someone who used it as if it’s a word. I feel so old…).

Despite this I have been pleasantly surprised that they have changed the missions, as it can get repetitive watching them over and over in all the international versions too! In the past I have ended up fast-forwarding and trying to find out what happened from the chat in the cars going back.

Who I want to win: Minah or Leanne
Who I want out right now: Joe

Bouledeneige · 11/01/2025 11:55

Yes I'm disappointed by Linda - I thought she might be good but she's actually useless. minah is clearly making all the decisions and Linda's just hamming her way through it. I want the faithful to catch her.

Bouledeneige · 11/01/2025 11:56

I've been disappointed by Claudia's outfits this season.

Can we have a sticky at the top: Frankie is not Freddie's mum.

Seriously! And can we have a sticky at the top or indeed make it the title of the next thread that the breakfast scenes are edited? 🤣

Rictasmorticia · 11/01/2025 12:03

Choux · 11/01/2025 10:32

That's an idea. Claudia did say it would be a face to face murder and what is the point in revealing to the card game loser about to be murdered who the traitors are?

so perhaps there is no final card game and now it's going to be Leon for the chop and Fozia force recruited as a traitor? I don't think the traitors would choose Leon to join them instead.

I had not thought of that. They go to the person with the life card and say join us or you are dead. Makes it more interesting.

outofofficeagain · 11/01/2025 12:03

Everyone was allowed to ask other players before making a final decision. So Lisa was guessed correctly. Dan wasn't

I expected Paul at least to applaud Minah's brilliant and natural crying. Being a master of the form himself!

I also adored the Oz S 1 winner. Won't say who it is. Master of the form too.

The ending of Aus S1! 👌

123ZYX · 11/01/2025 12:46

Claudia released who the other person was when the slimed person guessed one of the pair correctly, because that meant that both of the pair were out. So Lisa's partner was guessed correctly, which meant Lisa had to be revealed

If the marked guessed one of the pair, both in the pair lost their shield, that's why claudia said who was in the pair.

In respect of the molasses, it seems the producers hadn't anticipated it getting into the first person's eyes and so after that, they had to try and keep it off faces (although Linda managed to get some on her face too and then licked it). Not sure what Frankie was suggesting it was - they aren't going to put anything non-edible on them, just really sticky. I can understand Minah being annoyed that it was harder for her to get rid of though.

Minah telling Dan he had betrayed her trust probably just makes her look more like a faithful. If Leon is the survivor of the card game and forcibly recruited as a traitor, he's really going to need to cover his emotions better.

Also can't understand why Linda didn't think to write the names in block capitals to disguise her writing. Surely Anna will remember the strong, independent woman comment at some point - I thought she'd told Charlotte's that...

Minah is a class act , who knows if she was annoyed by the substance going in her eyes, who knows if she really felt betrayed by her man dannnnn

The point with her is , who really knows? It's just always a game with her as she's always switched on to it

Unlike Linda

I think also there was an agreement, possibly unspoken , that they would not gunk Fozia's head covering.

That also occurred to me. In the event, she didn't get gunked at all, which makes me wonder if there was some subconcious bias at play there? Such considerations didn't help Minah with her culturally sensitive hair type, though - at the round table and in the evening it looked less coiffed and glossy than usual, so I'm sure the ire she directed at the gunkers was completely genuine! I had also assumed that all these challenges are tested and rehearsed beforehand, in which case it's odd that the risk of the gunk getting in the contestants' eyes was not spotted earlier.

On Uncloaked nearly all of them come off very likeable, away from.the pressure of the show and the apparent need to cry all the time.

That's true - they are all lovely on Uncloaked (except Dan mentioning his autism as an excuse again!)

Armani was exactly as she was on the show - I think she'd have been the same whether a traitor or a faithful!

SauvignonBlanche · 11/01/2025 13:15

Choccyscofffy · 10/01/2025 22:40

How so?

Apologies and to @Fordian, I fell asleep 😴

I thought Jake’s land mine was just that he mentioned at the Round Table that it could be someone close to him.

Minah referred to herself as his ‘Scouse Sister’ so people knew they were close and this is one of the first times she’s been brought to the fore.

Piggywaspushed · 11/01/2025 13:18

That's Dan!

merryhouse · 11/01/2025 13:21

in the card game

(1) if Fozia had immediately asked for that card back, it would have been obvious to anyone not Actually Asleep that it was the life card. There was no way she was going to end up with it so she made the decision to give Anna a chance rather than give it directly to (can't remember who was sitting where)

(2) Alexander was doing the stupid freezing petrified darting look because he's played this sort of game before. It was happening right from the start and was totally on purpose. He knows he'll have a tell so he threw everything else at his face to cover up. An inexperienced player will try to make their face blank, and it never works. Exhibit A: Leon, which Alexander immediately spotted and took the card off him. I think he was probably quite a good diplomat Grin

idiotfacelicker · 11/01/2025 13:29

The reason Fozia didn’t take the life card back from Anna is it would make it obvious it was the life card, then Alexander would take it from her, then Leon would take it from Alexander. So she had no chance of keeping it so it was either gift it to Leon or Anna and she chose to gift it to Anna because she’s been so targeted. She sort of explains that but not quite so explicitly as it’s just a sound bite.

apologies if this is already explained but I am posting this before finishing the thread.

I don't think Dan was using his autism as an excuse for anything, he was explaining why he played the game differently to others because of his neuro divergence that's a fact not excuse. Don't think it's fair to judge in that way.

Notsuchafattynow · 11/01/2025 13:37

She's a clever cookie Fozia, I'm not sure I'd have worked that out 'in the game'.

I like her. Think she'd be a superb Traitor.

Oh course Dan not Jake!

They really are an unmemorable bunch this year.

A few other random ramblings thoughts ...

It's inevitable that all the contestants will have watched and learned from Series 1 and 2 (and possibly other countries' versions), yet we've not yet heard anyone say something along the lines of "in previous series there was a murder in plain sight round about now" or "last year the Traitors recruited someone who was already under suspicion and then threw them to the lions" ... etc. I suspect that a good many references to previous series are edited out to retain the focus on the current series. Not the case with Uncloaked, when the earlier series are frequently mentioned for comparison purposes.

Re tonight's end game... I think there will be no card game between the remaining two (or if there is, they'll need to play with more than two cards each!🤔😂). Instead, I think the Traitors themselves will simply choose to murder one there and then by sitting at the table and pointing, with the unfortunate victim marched away into the darkness by two masked acolytes. The remaining player will then have the choice of being recruited or murdered, and will only discover the identity of the Traitors once he/she accepts. TBH I can't see that person refusing as curiosity will inevitably get the better of them...😂

Baby Boomers - born 1946- 1964

So the poster notice Linda wrote a cursive Z (curly Z) rather than a zig- zag Z.

DDs and me were taught cursive and we are Gen X/Z.

@MabelMora

I absolutely loved both Australian versions of the show. They are literally strategising and scheming right from the off aren't they? The same closeness of friendships are formed but it's much more brutal. Oddly cancelled after 2 seasons there though. It's strange how it takes off in some countries and not others isn't it? The hotel it's set in is no match for the castle though and the presenter is no Claudia (but Claudia level of famous in Oz i think)

I've not watched S2 because I read a spoiler about the end so no point. S1 though - omg! I thought the TV had frozen at one point of the finale because one contestant was sat gawping in shock for so long 😂.
