I couldn’t see a thread on this crazy, awful and so sad case. I was going to link but there was a possible spoiler in the Sky description! Anyone else watched and would like to discuss?
If you haven’t watched it, it’s a True Life Crime case, 3 episodes, aired in Sept I think.

Yes I’ve seen it. It happened not far from where I live. It’s crazy to think this woman’s life was a whole lie, the treatment of her children was appalling too. Utterly heartless she was.

@Sleepypupp she was an utter psychopath do you think? Her letters???
Her eldest son was so distraught recounting it. I was so pleased when he said he was now married with children of his own.

It’s bonkers.

I’ve watched it twice because it was so unbelievable I thought I’d missed the actual story.

psychopath who managed to get away with it her whole life.

@SparklyBrickViper yes it deserves a second watch, I’m going to watch again with DH.

The children (well, 3 of them, one did not contribute and Martin took his life) still thought fondly of the father.

It's mad isn't it? I watched it with my jaw dropped.

Yes I felt the father's/husband's experience as a victim of abuse wasn't really explored. I suspect it was much more severe than we saw and he was murdered it the end. I know the whole point is they don't know the nature of the relationship but he was downplayed as a victim. If it was the opposite (as it so often is) the woman would be painted as innocent all along whereas it was implied that he was part of the problem.

The time the older guy had his bags packed for UK and they never showed was absolutely heartbreaking. He seemed like such a sad man..and the dark haired daughter seemed so lovely but looked old beyond her years, all the alcohol and drugs took their toll, poor woman.
