So many women pregnant, is there something in the water?
Wonder if they'll have a son or a daughter?
Joel's story lingers on, that's really too bad.
And now we have to put up with his mum and his dad.

Lauren's gonna do time, I wonder how long.
I guess she deserves it as she has done wrong.
Gail's gonna leave soon, after 50 whole years.
It'll be such a shame, there will many tears!

Bethany's putting on a brave face, though she's had a tough ride.
Daniel's still boring, and Kit's always snide.
Daisy's always got a snooty little pout.
And looks like she might just knock someone out..

Toyah and Nick have been secretly smooching.
Leanne knows all about it though, as she's always mooching.
Debbie's so funny, and Eileen's so droll
And Roy, a real favourite, is one of the best characters of all

Carla and Swain are getting quite close.
Not such a secret now, and nearly everyone knows.
Mason the baddie has gone quite good.
And Betsy always acts like she's Queen of the Hood!

Not much more to review for now.
But it's happy new year to us all.
I wonder how the Corrie cast will celebrate?
I bet they will have a ball. Grin

Happy new year everyone. Have a cracking 2025! 😄

More Leanne & Tracy please!

No, please not! They are the most annoying people on there!

Why are Nick and Toyah indulging Leanne? I get she’s still part owner but you can bar anyone who is detrimental to your business and she just seems to want to be drunk and loud.

I think they are both very scared of her

CellophaneFlower · 23/01/2025 09:11

I just think they still feel bad for getting together and are conscious of Sam's feelings being stuck in the middle. Whatever, their reactions are helping as they seem reasonable and she just looks like a massive bitter twat.

CellophaneFlower · 23/01/2025 09:15

How did she go from Ryan to Craig anyway? Not sure if I missed a bit 🤷‍♀️. Ryan definitely looked like he was up for a bit of Battersby bonking and probably needs to drag himself away from the lesbian action 😳

CherryogDog · 23/01/2025 09:20

Has Leanne ever been likeable?
Loved Daisy wiping the smug look off Bethany's face, I don't know how she resisted slapping it.

Shellingbynight · 23/01/2025 11:25

Re Helen Worth, as I said I was not the first to mention it so comments are better addressed to whoever was.

That was a terrible episode last night, I am close to completely switching it off.

Nice to see Bethany’s smug glee dashed onto the rocks. I guess she’ll be going to London solo.

They are continuing to ruin Leanne. She developed into a good character but now she’s regressed to Battersby teen.

Always lovely to see Debbie and Ronnie getting some airtime though. I'm sure they will find a way to ruin them too. I am even fed up with the sight of Toyah and Nick and I was rooting for them a couple of months ago.

Lauren being found not guilty is beyond ridiculous. And now more Lauren and Frankie drama in store.

eggandonion · 23/01/2025 12:04

I spend time watching and wondering who hasn't appeared recently and who does very little. And waiting for ghostly seb.

Battersby bonking. 😋

I like Lauren and I was really happy that she was found innocent. I hope they give the poor lass a bloody break now!
I do not like Bethany and enjoyed every second of her comeuppance Grin

Probably not quite as absurd as Toyah's trial.

She was charged with murder when the offence of death by dangerous driving was taylor made for those sort of cases.

Oh well, at least the court is freed up for Leanne.

Shellingbynight · 23/01/2025 14:05

😆oh yes of course, Leanne's trial! The speed these trials are raced through she'll be sentenced by lunchtime.
I either did not watch Toyah's trial or I have wiped it from my memory.

Me too.
Does that mean she will go through a trial for manslaughter though?

AmusedMaker · 23/01/2025 20:17

Leanne did make me laugh when she said
‘do you always go home crying to your mum’ 😂

I don't think so. Once you're acquitted of murder I don't think you can be retried for manslaughter.

I think manslaughter has to be offered as an alternative during a murder trial in order to be found guilty of it. Not sure why it wasn't, but it isn't always.

bizzey · 23/01/2025 20:41

So with Lauren's trial...
She was up for murder only .
So can only get a G or NG on murder.

But if she was up for murder or manslaughter...she could have been found guilty of Manslaughter ...

Is that how it works ?

I mean ... technically...she bashed a man over the head with a rock ..🤔?

Don't blame her ..but I think the courts might think differently??

bizzey · 23/01/2025 20:44

Oops ...sorry ...think above post may have addressed what I was trying to ask !

CellophaneFlower · 23/01/2025 20:44

I think it's because it was deemed to be self defence. That's not manslaughter.

Oh, don't worry... I'm only guessing. I'm not a lawyer (or a criminal 😳) 🤣

Edited

They always just go for murder in Weatherfield trials

Toyah could have gone to jail for causing death by dangerous driving but the only charge was murder

Lauren did whack Joel with a rock. He had Max by the neck but he was unarmed and it was far from obvious that he was going to kill Max.

Shellingbynight · 24/01/2025 09:31

They storylined Joel's death so badly, just for the additional (melo)drama. If Lauren had, say, whacked him over the head when he attacked her in the hospital, then she could very reasonably have got off on a self defence plea. The way they storylined it, nope.

CellophaneFlower · 24/01/2025 09:48

I thought it odd too that they've dragged this storyline out for so long but the actual trial was pretty straightforward. There was no dramatic silence when the verdict was announced even, it was all quite rushed and a bit of an anticlimax.

Especially with the cover up and change of story

They look guilty as sin

Shellingbynight · 24/01/2025 13:03

Yes, not to mention tracking him down and confronting him on a deserted bridge at night. What did they think was going to happen at that point?!

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 24/01/2025 14:10

I don’t like Daisy but even I was pleased about her alternative quiz question last night?
Bethany has turned into a smug, self absorbed brat and there are no words to describe Daniel!
I hope the baby is Kits and he steps up properly. Those two are a good match for one another.
