Call the midwife

The call the midwife christmas special is on bbc 1 in 2 parts. The first part will be shown on christmas day at 20:00. The second part will be shown at 19:30 on boxing day. Series 14 will start on 5th January. I am suprised that it has not been renamed as the doctor Turner show.

It's a sad storyline but I quite like the repeat of older topics again. It's more realistic and perhaps gives a chance to show changing attitudes or reactions to similar issues.

Especially as we get into the 70s and beyond. Therefore more medicine advances.

I don't mind her as a character, admittedly she's not my favourite but it reeks of trying to shoehorn her into scenes where she doesn't belong.

It was three years before I was born, so I don't really think about it much, but I suppose it might have taken a melodramatic episode of a TV drama that has gone off the boil to realise that I am!
