So how old are Steph and Ruby meant to be? I thought Steph was only mid to late 20's but I'm guessing not!

Allthehorsesintheworld · 12/12/2024 20:39

@familyissues12345 I worked out Ruby was born 1973 so 51. That’d make Steph born 1990. So 34?

JaneJeffer · 12/12/2024 20:40

Says 1992 on Emmerdale wiki so 32

Allthehorsesintheworld · 12/12/2024 20:42

The birthday party was 1989 at beginning of the show so 92 doesn’t make her a 16th birthday baby. 🤷‍♀️

JaneJeffer · 12/12/2024 20:43

DOB circa 1976 on wiki

If my maths is right and it might not be, wouldn’t 1989 make Ruby only 13 if she’s born in 1976?

JaneJeffer · 12/12/2024 21:21

2024-1976=48
48-32=16
The party could only have been in 1992 if these figures are correct but I missed the bit where it said the year. In any case Emmerdale is not known for having a grip on people's ages. The Mackenzie/Moira story didn't add up at all!

I think Ruby mentioned a few weeks ago that Steph was 31

Edited

Thank you :) my maths has always been rubbish! I also missed the bit where it said the year

JawsCushion · 12/12/2024 22:31

I missed the announcement and I really hoped this wasn't going to be the storyline. I know there's an element of it may help victims but when you are a victim, it is hard to keep seeing it as entertainment as well.

PrincessScarlett · 12/12/2024 23:00

And coming straight after the Belle Tom abuse storyline it feels way to soon to have another abuse storyline.

Allthehorsesintheworld · 13/12/2024 03:08

Another sleepless night so I’m watching it back.
Think I got 1989 from the ticket in the memory box but Steph says looking at the photo 1990s fashion was so funny. And Roxette Joyride playing at Ruby’s birthday party was released in 1991 so I think my date calculations above are all wrong.
I wonder if there were other girls involved too. He’s a really horrible character but acted well, it can’t be pleasant playing someone so vile.

And it is another grim storyline so close after Belle’s. ☹️

JewelleryCat · 13/12/2024 06:36

That’s true, it is an important storyline but can we not have some light relief first before going into another abuse storyline? Tom and Belles storyline is still ongoing

TheFormidableMrsC · 13/12/2024 12:10

It was sickening last night. It's an important subject but it does feel a lot on top of Belle's storyline too. The actor who plays him does it very well, agree that it must be a difficult role to play. Steph is going to be his isn't she? 🤢

JaneJeffer · 13/12/2024 12:12

I hope they handle this story properly in a way that is helpful and don't turn it into a farce like they did with Belle's story.

That's far too much to hope for @JaneJeffer. I'm expecting the Emmerdale Rock to make another appearance.

Ruby has really grown on me. Beth's acting has been sensational this last week. How she can say a thousand words without even speaking. And to be fair, her dad has been great as well as we all hated him instantly so he's obviously doing a great job in the role. What a horrible role to take on.

JaneJeffer · 13/12/2024 12:33

I always thought she was brilliant. I hope the Steph actress is up to the part though. We'll see. Hopefully it will turn out that Caleb is her father in the end.

No idea what is going on with the Will and Kim stuff and the mystery nan - nor do I care.
Anthony is a vile piece of shit - how ridiculous did he look in the awful flashback syrup.
I don't know why Ruby doesn't tell everybody what happened. All it would take is a DNA test.

JaneJeffer · 13/12/2024 15:35

Presumably Ruby is keeping quiet because she thinks he's Steph's father and doesn't want her traumatised by that revelation.

Middlemarch123 · 13/12/2024 15:39

Just watched last night’s, we were right about poor Ruby, bless her.

Nescafé woman married to Trevor Eve in real life.

Don’t want to even think about Steph’s grandfather being her dad, too horrible for words.

Have completely given up on the Kim and Will double crossing stuff, I play Candy Crush in those scenes, too much for my little brain 🧠

RaraRachael · 13/12/2024 15:42

Surely she'll get fed up of Steph forcing her to play happy families? I hope for a Christmas reveal in the pub and I don't believe he's got cancer either

bizzey · 13/12/2024 15:43

Ohh Trevor Eve 🥰🥰....just seeing the name is enough to give me butterfly wobbles again ! 😂..

I had such a crush on him 😍😍!

Middlemarch123 · 13/12/2024 15:47

OMG @bizzey , me too.

JaneJeffer · 13/12/2024 15:57

I prefer Nescafé woman's neighbour even though he's Rebecca's dad 😂
