Have no idea of times or anything, but just saw this as Sam Heughan was on the BBC One show. (I didn't watch in case of spoilers!)

I cant see it listed on Prime.

You will need starz in the UK so it’s an extra subscription.

Oh! All the publicity says that for the UK it is via Prime. But if it isn't then no wonder i cant see it listed.

Yeah you have to pay extra so you can use the prime Starz. They did this last season too.

Feministwoman · 20/11/2024 00:11

It's not on Starz in the UK now, it's on MGM+ on Amazon Prime, which is an extra subscription.
All the Outlander series are on it.

Thanks for that. All I saw was a one liner in a newspaper about a lot of interest in the start of the series, with very little detail.

But thought someone will know and explain, so thanks.

So £8.99pm Prime + £4.99 MGM+

Am thinking as there are 8 episodes, will sign up in December and catch up on early episodes.

Quite honestly the first part of series 7 wasn't that great.

But want to know what happens!

Is this the last ever series of Outlander?

One more series after this one which they have just finished filming @IwantToRetire

I think it's such a con that we have to pay extra to watch it!!

I can quite imagine it costing more for the final series as well!

Haha!!! My username gives me away huh?!? 🤣

I'm not sure when series 8 is due to be shown - sometime in 2025 I guess, probably the second half as they do love a 'droughtlander'!!

Feministwoman · 20/11/2024 21:38

Read the books, instead!
The series, while great,is so far off the books now I'm on the verge of giving up.
But... Sam 💕

IwantToRetire · 22/11/2024 17:20

I read that it gets broadcast at 8pm EST which mean 1am Saturday in the UK?

Have decided I will put money before probably dubious delights of the second part of season 2, so will only pay out for a month when it is half way through.

And it will be over Christmas so can be in a half hearted way, indulgent.

And it cant be any more silly, that many made for Christmas tv shows ... Grin

The books are far better than the show. But the audiobooks are even better - the narrator is brilliant and I see every character as they are in the show in my minds eye while I listen!

That's interesting. I have got acess to audible and never thought to look for them.

Thanks

I should have stayed off social media. Seeing so many spoilers. MGM+ had a special offer last week 99p per month for 3 months. I got that.

DrZaraCarmichael · 22/11/2024 18:11

There is a prequel coming - Blood of my Blood. It was filmed in Scotland between January and July 2024 and I think the idea is to put it out before the final season of Outlander (which has also wrapped).

Spent a couple of days working on this production, getting eaten alive by the midgies.

The offers just expired - story of my life. Just missing things.

I couldn't get on with the audio books, myself, but then I don't have much time to listen to them.

Oh wow. Lucky you. Hope the couples in this have great chemistry.

AlisonDonut · 22/11/2024 18:17

I was just wondering this morning when we were going to get the next gripping installment of this.

DrZaraCarmichael · 22/11/2024 18:17

So on the days I was working I saw the two male leads and the actor playing Claire's mother. Didn't see the other female lead. The "talent" were still using the same portaloos as the rest of us.

LadyWhitwell · 23/11/2024 09:59

I just checked prime and it seems only season 1 is available on prime now. Anyway just about to watch the new episode now on MGM.

DrZaraCarmichael · 23/11/2024 10:37

Won't give any BomB spoilers. AFAIK they have a contract for 3 seasons so should be starting to film second season again in the New Year, they usually do all the studio bits jan-march and then the outside bits when the weather gets better.

Oh that's good to know. I liked the show better when it was set in Scotland, that alone will keep me watching Bomb.

DrZaraCarmichael · 23/11/2024 13:34

Outlander really isn;t a big show here and most Scottish people are very bemused by the interest in the show overseas. Having spoken to crew and other extras about it, the general feeling is that the appeal of the show was Scotland, and that when the action moved to France/US it lost a lot of its appeal. So Blood of my Blood will be back to that Scottish roots. With the usual time travel, drama and romance.

ComeTellTheBees · 23/11/2024 22:40

I enjoyed episode 7/9, it stuck to the book fairly well apart from the reason Claire going back. Should have been like in the books and going to help Henri-Christian

The books read on Audible by Davina Porter are brilliant. The best narrator I've ever listened too. Well worth the credit too at an average of 40 hours a book.
