Totally agree.
Although I initially thought this series would be a breath of fresh air after that shit show, but I'm finding it boring. We hardly see them doing anything except the talking hotel and overanalysing relationships that haven't even got off the ground.
For me, that level of introspection and counselling is for an established relationship that's become a bit rocky, not a meeting of strangers who may have absolutely no attraction to each other.
With regard to Kara saying she would like to be lead by a man, I often think those kind of remarks that get played back to us are shown somewhat out of context after the story moves in a contradictory direction. I imagine the directors extract responses to direct questions, rather than this kind of information being volunteered and it may be something as simple as wanting a mature character who can take responsibility. As an example, throughout our marriage I've had all the household and life admin chores, making sure all the bills are paid, keeping track, budgeting, sourcing and supervising any work on the house, booking holidays and everything around them, schooling and medical decisions and so on. There's a good reason for this and my DH more than pulls his weight, but occasionally I've been wearied of it all, like he has been with other stuff, and have thought I'd like a partner who would 'take charge' I certainly never meant to be the boss of me though 😀
